I have 3 kids (5, 4, 3 years old). I used 3 seats 2 years ago but after a few monthes I used only one seat on the front seat, for the smallest kid. The 2 others use the back seat belts, they are not very happy to not see anything, they are seated too low. I know it is a little bit unsecure, but it is only for a few km. It is always possible to do better, but it is probably better to not have any kid nor any car

In my area (Chicago) most fire and police departments will help you make sure your car seat is correctly secured. An improperly secured car seat can be more dangerous is some accidents. I would have someone with expertise look at it. It is not worth taking a chance.

We have that option here in the U.S also. But is a pain to get the proper paper work that will Allow a cut off switch to be added to car. I need to have the state look at my car to make sure I have no other place other than the passenger seat to put a child seat. Where else are they going to sit, In the trunk?

What I am trying to find out is, has anyone put and infant seat in the back seat facing rear-wards? I am on the list for a Gransport and just found out we are going to have a kid. So I need to know before the car arrives whether a baby seat fits in the back facing rear-wards.

Kid Seats in 04 Coupe

I bought the Maserati (03 Coupe), over other cars, because I needed to be able to take my 4 year old around. Rear facing (my 9 month old) only works in the front but you MUST disable the right front airbag. THis is hard to do and requires a European model with airbag cutoff switch - US models don't have cutoff switch. Forward facing Britax or any of the popular child seats fits fine in back. My 4 year old loves it and as soon as my 9 month old can be turned around, I am going to sell my M3 (keeping it because she fits rear facing in back easily).

Check out the Simpson Seat. It looks like a little race car seat and fits the car rear seat very well. Remember to tether the top - very important for safety.

One of the reasons I didn't buy a C4S is the Maserati is lots better for the kids in back.

Ayways, I have 17K miles on it and am still in love. THis is the best 4 seat GT car on the planet in my opinion (especially for the money).

LOL
Matt, doesn't your coupe have the seat belt locks for the car seats? Mine has them in the rear under window panel.

Let me dig out this thread. I have a similar seat than this 2011 pic. There is a base too, I tried both versions (with and without base) but I am not very comfortable with the fit. I feel it moves too much sideways, maybe it is normal. I won't use it before December but I am getting prepared.
I can also put it on the front seat because I have a switch to disconnect the airbag.
Do you guys have recommendations (other than telling me to buy a 4 doors car ;) )?
Thanks!
