I was looking at buying an '05 Cambiocorsa Spyder that's located several states away from me. I had a co-worker that lives in the area check out the car for me. His comment was that there was a noticeable lag when he shifted gears. He said he really noticed it accelerating onto the interstate. Is that normal or is it an indication of some type of problem? I've only ever driven a spyder one time a few months ago, but I didn't remember anything like that. Any feedback / suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

A CC driven in non-sport mode is a bit laggy, as far as I can tell. But I wouldn't buy a car on a test drive by a friend, particularly if it's an expensive one. Try it yourself if you can or look for one closer to home :)

to be honest, I don't find my 06 GS in normal or sport mode 'laggy' - pull the trigger & the gear goes home. If it's really soft\slow get the gear box checked out at a specialist.

...also especially if he's a friend you value :)

Seriously, possible explanations could be as BigFoot says - you would need to make sure that the car was not in Auto AND was in Sport mode.

how much mileage is on the car? maybe the clutch is going ... also, driving the cambiocorsa takes a tiny bit of learning to smooth out the drive/gear shifts. before you buy, do a PPI, espeically if it's higher mileage.
