I'm new to this site, and I'm currently looking to buy a 2003 or 2004 coupe. I've drove a CC 2003 and CC 2004. The clutch in the 04 was about gone so it was not a good example, but the 03 seemed to shift fine. I have heard that the 04 has a different shift control module than the 03, and that an 03 cannot be upgraded to the latest software unless this module is changed. Is this rumor or fact? I was told mechanically the 03 and 04 CCs are the same?

I have another question in regards to the badging. The 03 I looked at was missing the V8 badges on the front fenders. The dealer claims it was never in an accicent, but it makes me a little suspicious. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I believe that the 04's have a twin tang clutch assembly compared to a single tang on the 02's. The 03's were a very short production run and are more similar to the 02's than 04's in the coupe. The 04 car you drove more than likely was driven more or harder.
