I am thinking of purchasing a Maserati and am wondering how good is the build quality? Any problem with rattles, poor fitting panels, and generally poor workmanship? How does the build quality compare to a Porsche for example?

Thanks

Radio and nav/sat aside they are very reliable and the build quality is up there with Ferrari. I don't think as good as a Porsche but then again I don't think Ferrari was either. All in all, you get a much more luxurious interior compared to Porsche (one of the selling points for me and my wife). As mentioned in other threads, its a near exotic car unlike the mass produced Porsche and being Italian it does have a few quirks but hands down better than a 996.

poor workmanship? i hope u don't have that mentality walking into a maserati. :(

may be some older italian cars...

you would expect certain issues with hand built cars.

i think maserati is a statement about craftsmanship, whereas porsche might be more about engineering.

2005 QP; 15K miles now. Surprisingly good build quality. Also I visited the factory and the operation reflects and committment to quality.

I had 4 Maseratis in the last 2.5yrs. The 3200, two 4200 coupes and now the GS. All the cars were great...never had a major problem inside and out. I think the only problem was on the 1st 03 coupe where the fuel filter clogged...they changed it FOC.

If it weren't a great car...I wouldn't be driving one now.
