First remove all hoses/hardware from the front of the engine. You have to remove the cam covers to reach the water pump. Yes: do replace the cam belt durng this operation. Replace thermostat as well.
[The radiator should be removed to prevent any possible damage.]
Make sure the engine is TDC. Pay close attention to the driver side (USA Spec) cam gear location before you loosen the tensioner and remove the belt. If you can, lock it in place before belt removel operation. This will make it easier to reinstall the new belt. If not, the cam gear will rotate about 90 degrees. +/- when you remove the belt. You will have to mark the cam location or reset the cam using the factory markings. (not fun for a first timer).. Tighten tensioner and re assemble.
