E problem is A PROBLEM!!!

To those of you that spent alot of time and $$$$ on this problem; the advice from Maserati today.............DON'T!!!! They adjusted the louver type door or damper which is usually the problem MOST of the time; mine is now working intermittently; but as DocJim pointed out , alot of money and no fix; they quoted me about 14-15 hours of labor to pull the dash; the tech's response; if you want it fixed, its gonna be expensive;I would leave it alone; as he quoted" that is just stupid money"....so I hope the reset on the damper works cause I am not gonna spend $2500 to see the Letter "e" leave my dash...dogdoc

Actuator -> heater cock actuator that is, NOT the panel controls. When the E fires, that signals the actuator got jammed. So you want heat... none, as the controls are unresponsive. Ditto for A/C.

Trying to find on the Eurospares site where the heck it is...

Well - I have to say - listen to the expert ! Looks like it is this bit (heater cock/actuator jobby that's now ripe for investigation.

Had a good browse through the Eurospares site and can't see it anywhere - did you ever find it ?

and knowing how to access the air pollen filter by removing part # 1 here

suggests, maybe, thay you can only access the sucker from inside. Price for the part also matches what I was quoted (40 quid).

Was looking at those bits but wasn't sure if they were the right ones.

I would imagine they have some sort of valve inside to alter the flow of hot and cold water to the heater matrix ?

Ok guys so the verdict is in btw I have the same issue comes on rarely but then shuts off one thing I realize or maybe I just don't know how to do it but I want all air to stop coming in like the hot air that circulates does this have anything to do with that??

BTW from this post I see that we should just leave it alone it does not make any sense to spend 2 grand on this E problem.

got a tip for you maserati owners

hi
if you have the letter e on your display then you can check the code just by pressing the two buttons your heater panel. if you hold them for a couple of second the display will say AA and then come up with a number.
you need to note the number down.
Once you have the number you can contact your maserati dealer or specialist and they will be able to find the fault quickly.
Simple little tip

At last it came on again. I did the two button press and sure enough up popped the code "55"

It's the recirc and econ buttons on the heater control panel !

Just got the "E" and I also got the AA 55 code. Is that a compressor failure?
