Hi folks, next Saturday I will be driving of for the very first time in my '07 GT. I have talked to a Maserati certified service center, whom had told me that they have a solution for an after market multimedia system that uses the car's standard screen. This should mean that it's not touchscreen and also that Android Auto software (hence) won't work on it, since google is discontinuing the interface from your mobile phone. The service center can't answer my questions as of yet, so I was wondering:

• do any of you have an after market system that uses the car's standard screen and how does Android Auto (given Google's recent changes) operate on it?
• or do you know of other solutions (pref. not via Alibaba etc.) that work well?

Went to Dutch Maserati specialist Franco today. Ordered a multimedia systeem that will fit a touchscreen layer over the current screen, indistinguishable from the original screen. System will be installed in August, 1,500 euro (1,750 $ us). Will post experiences and some pics by then

This guy has had the aftermarket solution built in and it looks very smart. 2nd half of the video. I'm in the process of buying my first Maserati (Granturismo S) so watching and reading just about anything I can!

yea its potentially too late now dutch since you already bought the system you are refering too, but I think you should have checked online alittle more as there is now the 4th gen aucar android system which is way lighter physically and even easier to install and has fixed 95% of the bugs of the original one from 2019(if you saw any threads/research into that android unit) and they now make a different layout version of it that has the maserati buttons(sport/ice/etc) moved to the bottom and the unit has 2 scroll wheel knobs so you dont need to use the touchscreen 100% and the price of them is cheaper then / almost the same as what you just purchased but you will get way better functionality in my opionion with the aftermarket unit. I dont think too many people care about the stock headunit on this car when the 2008-2017 stock version looks like its from 2001 lol .
