Also had two 944s ( one 944S and a 944S2 ) - phenomenal handling cars, albeit underpowered. Still a lot of fun to drive .
As you can tell, I’m the anti-classic Porsche guy, never cared for rear engines, not to mention the 911 body style which I can’t stand ( looks like a frog …a glorified VW bug ) , but that’s subjective ..
Totally get that...it's just that the styling of a bunch of cars in that era were SO similar...RX-7, 944, 280Z. You don't really see any of those on the road anymore...well, at least I don't. I loved the 928, however...

Old humor about Lucas Electric.. systems many ( or most ) British cars used quite a bit, I hear . Much maligned, becoming just about legendary, although no idea if it‘s only a grain of truth that has been blown out of proportion for the sake of humor ..or, if it really was that crappy..:oops:

• Lucas is an acronym for Loose Unsoldered Connections And Splices.

• The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."

• Lucas--inventor of the first intermittent wiper.

• Lucas--inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.

• The three-position Lucas switch--DIM, FLICKER and OFF.

• The other three switch settings--SMOKE, SMOLDER and IGNITE.

• Lucas dip-switch positions: HIGH and BLOW

• The original anti-theft devices--Lucas Electric starters

• Lucas Quality Control often advised the engineering department that their designs had problems with shorting out. Engineering always made the wires a little longer.

• Why do the English drink warm beer? Lucas refrigerators.

• Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, and Joseph Lucas invented the short circuit.
It's true. All of it...have tried the British and the Germans, as well as the Italians. All have their peccadilloes...but...

Temporarily deleted …having technical difficulties with a video 😔

This is driving me batty ! I’m trying to post a funny video ( a TikTok one ) , and I’ve posted videos previously here without any problem, but for some reason I can’t attach this particular clip .. It‘s saved on my iPad but I can’t retrieve it using the below tab bar’s find and select options ( photos or the paper clip icon ) nor using a copy and paste option. It pastes only the url but the link is not enabled . And if you copy and enter that link into a search engine , it won’t open anything .

Any ideas ?
Maybe check the iPad's EGR valve...? Could also be that the gas cap isn't tight.

From Attila The Pun

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which caused a significant set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail, and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him… ( oh man, this is so bad, it's good..) ..a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis. 🤪
i need a "groan" emoji, stat! 😬

Yeah, I know.. that was my reaction as well… but if you have pre-teen kids, they might find this amusing. ( of course they’d have to google Gandhi first ..)
p.s, isn‘t this - 😩 - a groan emoji ?
Maybe...looked seasick to me!

Nah, it was a really cute joke. So bad it's good, and the middle schooler in my life will eat it up...!
