Hello friends…..

My compressor is toast, 100% gone. Demographically, I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area…..it’s hot as _alls here.

One of my shops told that everything but compressor is good.

Besides staying cool - I learned that when I was caught in a rain and YES a hail storm (no damage to my girl thankfully) that I had no defrost….to keep windows from fogging up….I really don’t use my A/C….but, when someone wants to actually ride in my car….I’d use it…..

Question, has anyone done away with their A/C and completely taken out the compressor etc….and did you regret doing it?

Kindly,
Stephen

Don't do that...You are better than that...You need A/C like you said to dehumidify the windows when it is raining...How much did you get quoted? J
Hi Jason,

Most definitely, I have not received a quote yet…what a I plan on doing is buying all new parts individually once I compile a list…Tech is supposed to call me back with a quote next week.

Forget all the Wuhan stuff..It will last months...There are people out there that reman. the Delphi units..We have had good luck with them...A compressor was 3300.00 new for a 612 Ferrari...Had it rebuilt with no issues and it was under 600 bucks..J

May even have a local rebuilder down your way.

I'm no advocate for knockoff stuff, generally, but I don't mind taking a $200 flier every now and again...

Hi @[email protected] Enzo`s Atlanta can you please share the rebuilder? I've been looking for someone to rebuild my compressor since last summer. Thanks!

Hi all, I spoke with an AC company about rebuilding my compressor and sent them a photo - based on the photo they told me it's aftermarket/has been replaced.
Can anyone verify if it's likely original or replaced based on the brand/model in this photo?
I ask because if it's already been replaced, I might have a different problem causing my compressors to leak refrigerant.

Thanks.

How can they tell the rest of the system is OK without a functioning compressor to test it? I had what was diagnosed as a failed compressor, but further diagnosis found the ground up bits of my compressor contaminated the rest of the system and it got ridiculously expensive after that. Everything but the condenser was replaced :(

Hello Stephen, I live in Gunter just north of Celina, I was curious if you have had any service done by Boardwalk Maserati and what your opinion was of them. Thanks Mike

Have seen Sanden referenced multiple times. I think one of the "how to" guides makes mention of checking which you have before ordering - something to do with a slightly different mounting if memory serves. Worth checking that.

My understanding was early models used Sanden and '03 onwards had Delphi. Looking at the parts catalogues though it appears both were used from '02 thru '05. Who knows for sure but definitely not aftermarket.
