Car starts fine when cold and is also no problem restarting warm within 5-10 minutes, but becomes very difficult to start if it sits for an hour. Besides being difficult to start, it will want to stall the first few minutes? Thanks for any help. Steve

All the problems you are fiding are common to the biturbo range.
Poor start after an hour or so standing, is common in all biturbos. You will have to live with that.
You can put things a bit better by cleaning all the earth points to the chassis, there are a few.
Clean the battery contacts, replace the fuel pump relays. Clean all electric contacts.

Remember not to insist on the starter after a few attempts. Do not take more than 3 or 4 seconds each time.

You can improve by slightly press the gas pedal, do not pump, just press the pedal half way at the same time you start the ignition.

If you don't know, I invite you to visit Enrico Maserati pages at: http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/

There you can learn a lot on Maserati.
To Know a bit more about me just scroll to page 88.
