All - we managed to snag a 2016 QP GTS in perfect condition - 30K miles, inside impeccable, superbly fast, new tires, ceramic coated rims, hardly driven in years - and then a one-man-wrecking-crew known as "me" managed to wreck it against a curb and did 20-30K of damage to the car. Driver side air-bags deployed. Back left rim bent backwards into the axle, some scratch on the bumper - but that was literally it.
Verbally, the adjuster told me they worked with a Maserati dealership and the car is not a total loss as the repairs fit in the 25-40% of the value of the car. Most of the cost was the interior re-fix based on the air bags + the rim + axle + suspension work + replace or repaint the corner of the bumper.
When I got the estimate from Geico on-line, the actual estimate says around $7,000 which I know isn't going to cover this. Our Geico rep may have just put this into the system as a placeholder so he could get it towed to the dealership while he is on vacation for a week - not sure.
What tactics have everyone used to ensure your car is returned in the same exact perfect shape it was prior to the accident? I have pictures and video of everything on that car so I can prove it that way - but I think it might turn into a longer process than I want.
What do you think? Any advice? All that I'm doing right now is sicking my wife on them as she for-sure won't accept less than perfect - but that won't work forever.
Thanks much everyone for any advice. Literally the only damage you can visually see is in the picture below + imagine replacing all the pillars and canopy from the air bags deploying on one side.
