2014 Granturismo MC Sportline
I replaced my expansion coolant tank due to what looked like potential cracks developing in the side of the tank. It wasn't leaking, so this is a preventative measure. Tank was about $75 ordered from www.Scuderiacarparts.com
Took roughly 45 mins to an hour to replace, no bleeding necessary.

Vent tube leaves the top of the expansion tank, goes down and through a grommet, then terminates in about 9 or 10 inches.

I spilled about 1 or 2 tblspns of coolant, that's it!
Upon thorough inspection of the vent tube, i decided to leave the original tube in as it was perfectly fine....it's a vent tube lol

Nice write-up. That tank was showing some stress. Good catch.
You’ve inspired me to go and complete a thorough inspection on all the cars.

I topped off to the MAX line, then ran the engine with the coolant cap off for about 15 minutes. Ensure a nice, steady stream of coolant is flowing back into the expansion tank, from the engine. (you can observed coolant flow through the very top of the expansion tank).

Nice write-up, Tim. You clearly dodged a bullet! Hard to imagine my 2012 has cracking like that but I will take a look. It almost looks like "impact" cracking. Thanks!
