I bought my 2012 MC with 40K in 2019 for $39,000(all USD Quoted). I have now reached 85K. It is driven only from March to November - no snow... about 10K/year
Of important note is that I participate in a 3000 mile rally each year with 60-80 high end sports cars and this is a grueling drive over 5 days for the cars each year.
I have never experienced a breakdown on the rallies while at least 30% of participants have some issue that needs repair on the road.

This is the list of all repairs/maintenance over 5 years of ownership excluding gas and insurance.....

1/ 40K - oil change - $250
2/ 45K - oil change - $250
3/ 45K - new Tires - Michelin 4S - $2000
4/ 50K - oil change, cabin filter, air filter - $350
5/ 55K - oil change - $250
6/ 60K - original battery went and took out the alternator - rebuilt locally, while this service was done, I had the valve cover gaskets replaced, spark plug gaskets replaced, the spark plugs replaced, the two small cooler pipes under the intake replaced, coolant flushed, Total cost for this service was - $2,400
7/ 60K - new tires - Upsized to 255/35 20 and 295/35 20 Michelin S4 - $1900
8/ 60K - Oil Change - $250
9/ 65K - Oil Change - $250
10/ 68K - routine Transmission service -oil, filter and seals replaced $400 - highly recommended to keep the transmission fresh
11/ 70K - Oil Change, cabin filter, air filter - $350
12/ 74K - A/C compressor fails - replaced new - not rebuilt and full service on A/C - $2500
13/ 75K - Mass Air Flow burned out - $340
14/ 75K - Oil Change - $250
15/ 80K - Oil Change - $250
16/ 80K - Interstate battery failed - replaced with AGM battery with 5 year replacement warranty - $250
17/ 80K - new tires - Upsized further to 255/35 20 and 305/35 20 Firestone Indy 500 - $1000 - incredible tires!!
18/ 85K - Oil Change, cabin filter, air filter - $350
19/ 85K - Thermostat stuck open - replaced and flushed coolant - $750

TOTAL Cost of 45K driven maintenance and wear items - excluding gas - $14,340 over 5years = $2,668/year
BUT if you exclude wear/maintenance items then the total repairs are $5,990 over 5 years =$1,198/year .... very reasonable.

Auto is still auto mechanically. But the software makes a huge difference. I owned both versions. MC AutoShift ZF’s almost mimic the MC Shift’s characteristics especially with faster gear changes and downshift blips, as well as hard rev limiter.
I have also owned both and rallied and tracked both. The MC shift and the MC AutoShift ZF are extremely close in their shift patterns. I have also driven cars with the skyhook suspension and find they are softer shifting then the one with the MC fixed shock setup.
