Hi everyone!

I am a new member to this forum and need some advice from all you Maserati fans. I have placed an order for the MC Victory, (my first Maserati) with delivery in July-August 2006. Pricing is at MSRP which is yet to be determined. The dealer tells me that this car is a little faster with better handling than the standard GS.
Is this true?
It is being marketed as a limited edition, only 50 in North America. Will it depreciate just as fast?

By the way, I ordered it with the Victory Blue exterior, Navy Blue interior, with white piping. Headliner is leather. Any thoughts on the color combo?

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Saanik,

Congras... I am also a buyer of the MCV. Just one thing, it aint faster (same horse power). But I think they are doing something to the steering to make it more precise (i.e. I hope it's better handling).

As for depriciation, only god will know what it will be in 2-3 years time when i have to sell it. For Hong Kong, I know they have 2 quotas alloted. A third one is being negotiated.

As for your colour scheme... mine is virtually the same... but did you notice one thing - the interior of the show car is not navy blu... it's medio blu. I have asked previously, and everyone seemed to agree it's medio blu (which is lighter than navy blu). However the promo material I got from Maserati for the show car was that the colour is navy blu... in the end I made a choice and took medio blu. This is my previous link on the colour:

When did you order your car? I think there is quite a backlog on the production as mine just went into production at the start of May. I should have an update soon.

Did you tick any more options?

There is one particular one (other than the standard stuff) that I just couldnt resist... :)

congrats! as vincent pointed out, it should be any faster, but it is faster looking. if anything, the MC12 seats should be wonderfully firm (i wonder how many will actually hate these seats).

where exactly are the white pipings? it is hard to imagine the color combo.

the MCV GS should retain slightly better value than a regular GS.

btw vincent what is the option you couldnt resist?

Vincent,

The leather is navy blue, the center seat surfaces are alacantara blue trofeo,
headliner is navy blue, dash is alacantara blue trofeo, carpets are blue tappeto, piping white.

I also ordered the following;

cd changer, xenon front lights, powered hi fi system, 19" ball polished wheels,
option code CRBK (carbon fiber inside and under door moldings, steering wheel), passenger foot rest aluminum, rear park sensors.

Order date May 10, 2006
Delivery date July 20, 2006 at the factory.
I am in Modena July 22-24, 2006 to see the factory and look at my car.
Expected delivery in U.S. August/Sept 2006.

What are your options and comments?

Saanik - your car will be pretty similar to mine. I ordered that carbon option as well. I mean it's something that you just cant resist... But i skipped the ball polish rims and the aluminium footrest... the other options are virtually the same.

Actually I wonder how many people ordered this in Victory Blu... a lot I imagine!

Well I ordered mine in March (before the launch of the car). I was only confirmed a production date in May. It sucks in HK coz teh dealer here wouldnt let me know when my car will get to HK. I think I am the first (if not, definitely one of the first) people to order and finalise the options. All I know is that the other quota for HK is now backlogged to October production.

The carbon kit will be awesome (i hope)... I wish I can be in Modena to see my car too but i will be in Australia during that time. If you see another one with a medio blu interior, please post me some pics... and of course, post some pics of yours as well!

I wonder how long it takes to make a MCV and deliver it to HK.

M! - White pipings are the little leather lines that goes around the seats, the door mouldings etc... blue and white will be a good combo.

as a modern maserati owner i think i should know what pipings are.
may be i phrased my question wrong.

the reason why i asked is, there is no piping on MC12 seat...
if there is no white piping on the seats, adding them IMO only disrupt the flow of the interior design theme.

Apologies... i think there's indeed no piping on the MC12 seats... so the piping will only be extended to teh dash and door mouldings...

interesting pics... the red seats look nice.

Vincent and you are both correct. There are no pipings on the original racing version of the MC12 seats.

The launch version of the GS MCV at the Geneva Auto Show had white piping on the dash, doors, and center console, to contrast the blue leather.

I am trying to mimick the launch version as close as possible. Originally I had ordered blue medio piping, but changed it, thinking there would be too much blue, plus, the original colors of the MC12 racing version was white with blue livery.

Anyways, I'll post some pics at the end of July, when I return from Italy, of my car, the factory, and Vincent, if I see a blue medio interior, I'll take some pics for you.

Later, Saanik.
