Hey guys, I have been compiling a list of manual trans. cars and wondered how many we have here on ML. I know there was a partial list, but it is several years old, and cars have changed hands since. So, if you own a 6mt car, I would appreciate it if you would list;
1. Year,
2. Coupe/ Spyder,
3. Color,
4 Assembly number, and if you are willing,
5. last four digits of the vin.
If it's a non US car please note that also.
Thanks, I'm trying to find out how many of these already rare cars are still left. Also, if you know of a car and don't see it listed, please mention it, and give as many specifics as you can.
Edit; If you don't feel comfortable posting in public, you can PM me any info, also if there is someone who already has this info, please let me know, Thanks, Ed

Mine is a 2003 Spyder, Mediterranean Blue, Tan interior, 40,000 miles. Although the car has had 4 or 5 owners it's condition is what I would call excellent both mechanically and finish - the shift knob even shows all the gears. The exhaust has been modified to a Quicksilver end system otherwise it is completely stock. More than one person has commented that they thought the car was brand new. Don't have any of the number information as I am away for the summer. I will add them next time I am home. Bob Zim.

Thanks Bob, I've seen your car, and she is a beauty. If your vin ends in 86, the next two cars were both Spyder Gts and both are red.
Has anyone seen, or know who owns the 03 Spyder in Mistral Green?

I have a RHD (UK based) 03 Spyder GT 6MT, no aerial, glass rear window currently 72,000 miles in Verde Goodwood (dark green) with a Quicksilver end system.
The factory told me they made a total of 65 RHD GT Spyders throughout the Spyders production. Not sure where the assy number is? If it's V.I.N number mine ends in 31

Thanks guys, we need Tony H to show up and that will be most of the current 6mt owners.
As MJK1 knows, there is a web site in the UK called" How Many Are Left". It tracks car registration by model and year. There isn't one that I can find for the US.
Also, a search thru old posts shows a fair number of manual cars, but no idea of what became of them.

Hi
I believe that I am the 4th owner (one of the prior owners of this car, v12gte, can be found on this forum back in 2004) when it came to SF from Houston and in 2014 when he sold it to the party from which I acquired it from this past February. One of the other 'Rosso Bologna' threads indicated that only 13 of this color/int/tranny combo were imported into NA.

I grew up on 3 pedals and can't give them up. Still in great condition, inside and out, and runs great (40K mi).

Love this forum and very thankful to all the generous members who have shared their knowledge and experience, as it has immeasurably shortened the learning curve.

Tbh Oishi I don't think 'How Many Are Left' is very accurate, it can duplicate numbers under different headings, adding the numbers up a car can be in more than one group and you end up with a figure of more than there is.

Thanks guys, keep the list going.
The "How Many are Left" listing is inaccurate, but at least gives a general idea of cars still registered for the road. I am finding that cars sold several years ago have dropped off the grid so to speak. As expensive as these are to repair, I am wondering how many have been parted out and crushed.

I would be interested in making a listing of the parts most people would consider "deal breaker" for repair/replace and see if we can find a supplier. Things like clutch I highly doubt you would kind a taker, but something like an affordable coilovers you may get a couple of bites for.

Here in the UK I've seen a number of CC Coupe's being parted out and enquired about trim parts and they've come back with a price that is on par with a new part from Eurospares, people get greedy when they're parting out Maseratis here in the UK from my experience.
I did read a post on Facebook where a Coupe GT owner had a clutch fitted by a specialist and due to not being able to locate a specific 6MT clutch they used a CC one instead and he'd experienced no problems so far, if this proves to be a viable alternative it might make life easier and cheaper for us 6MT owners.

Lakeview, I really like your wheels, sets the car off nicely
KJLYNN, owner for 12 years, and 40+k miles, I bet you have a lot to share with the rest of us about long term ownership.
A list of 6mt cars was my original goal with this post, but I see that it is bringing old members out. That is great, we 3 pedal folks seem to be a quiet bunch, maybe you guys could relate your ownership experience ? Thanks, Ed

Notes: I am the second owner of this beauty, and it has been under my stewardship in the San Antonio suburban area since Dec 2003; the car was originally sold in Utah. Also, the only car I have ever named.

That owner would be me. 4000 miles in with some hard driving included and there has been zero issues.

Message me if you want any details

UK car. I am the 5th owner had it for 4.5 years... Owners 3 & 4 deferred some mainenance since 2012 which has meant the car has been a rolling restoration. Various repair work since 2016 including main oil feed pipe, brake discs+pads, cam covers, heater matrix, clutch, radiator, thermostat, track rod bushes failed twice, new front and rear brake lines, all 4 rims were buckled and required full restoration & paint + much more. Various modifications including full exhaust upgrade 200 cell 5 inch cats, x pipe and GS boxes, FD ECM, FD sway bars, GS steering wheel, 3200 AC aluminium pedals and petrol cap, full sound upgrade.

After all this work it is a really nice car to drive now... Compared to how it is now vs my initial test drive on a cold wet dark February afternoon back in 2016 it used to be a real dog. I feel like I brought it back from the brink of being broken for parts.

Plans for future? RH diff half shaft bearing booked in to be done on next service. Drivers side window motor is getting slower and slower so that needs replacing. Mods wise I am looking out for GS seats or potentially a full GS interior. Full respray and front grille restoration + rechrome and underbody anti-rust treatment.
