If you do make a donation, please do it because it's a bona fide charity benefitting people who need it - CHP widows and children.

My feeling on tickets is that if I get one, I probably deserved it, and it makes up for the 99 other times I skated.

I think the 11-99 foundation got out of the business of selling (I mean "giving") the badges and plate holders to donors - looked a bit too much like selling influence. Their website doesn't mention anything about it (the "gold membership") anymore - at least I couldn't find it when I looked.

It's a great charity, help lots of families. Join to help others first. I've been a member for 8 years. Good karma.

Drive safe however.

My Carma Ran Over My Dogma!

The CHP foundation is a great cause and does much good for the benefits of the families of fallen officers.

I have definitely benefited by being a member, but I am always totally respectful to the officer and never project expectation of any special treatment when being pulled over.

It truly depends on who is pulling you over and what kind of day the officer is having.

In addition, the membership entitles you to participate in CHP functions for members and become part of their community.

I am proud to be a member of an organization such as this, regardless of the obvious benefits.
