I have an 05 Quattroporte with 56K miles. In the last 300 miles the clutch, bearing and F1 pump all replaced. The car has been sitting during the winter and now I notice when a start from a dead stop 1st gear tends to shudder. some posts suggest that I just put a little more pedal when I start. Is that common??

Yes, especially if it's been sitting. You will get a little shuddering or even bouncing on takeoff just as you would with a stick, even if it's been sitting for just a few days.

I've found that one way to help it after it's been sitting a while is to turn off the MSP and drive for a bit. It seems to "learn" how to engage the clutch again without the traction control.
