The engine oil alert dashboard light came on yesterday morning ( I wasn’t parked on a steep slope or anything like that ..) Checked the dip stick and the level was perfect, just about at the “full” line.
So I did the Italian reboot, based on my former IM‘s advice that it should be the very first try anytime any alert shows up . And sure enough, it worked ! The alert vanished right after that.
It could be coincidental with the oil change on Monday and also a brand new battery in last week, but the point is that it never hurts to do a reboot as a first troubleshooting step.

Remove the connection to the NEGATIVE battery post ( it has an easy lever you can just pull ) leave it disconnected for about five minutes , and then just place it back.
