  1. 2017 GT sport

    GranTurismo
Its normal. The car is very mechanical. As you say it goes away after a warm-up phase of few seconds or minutes...
  2. Getting challenged on the highway

    GranTurismo
Indeed it is at high speeds that the car really shine performance wise - that engine really wants to be pushed to the high end revs limits! I have reached 310 Km/h (probably 305 GPS read) with the car (2016 GT SPORT F1). I think there was maybe 1 Km/h left...
  3. Maserati granturismo mc 2013 gearbox issue

    GranTurismo
Without proper diagnosis from a competent technician who really understands the F1 system, you will have a hard time... Fix could be as cheap as 0$ (properly performing the self-learning procedure) or as expensive as 5000$ (clutch replacement if completely worn out).
  4. Transmission question..

    GranTurismo
In this thread you will find every useful information pertaining to GT transmissions. => ZF or F1 transmission in GranTurismo?
  5. Tell me why a GT is not considered "Exotic"

    GranTurismo
@BlackMasi , sorry to hear your gripe. Did you try replacement under warranty? How many Km did you drive it and how much money did you lose finally selling the car? Regarding the topic of this thread, since there is no universally agreed definition of "exotic car", what an exotic car is is in...

  8. ZF or F1 transmission in GranTurismo?

    GranTurismo
I get the point regarding 50/50 but I will not argue what weight distribution is better (that warrants another expert thread to discuss why rear/mid-engined cars are better (or not) than front-engined cars etc.) The fact of the matter is that the MC Shift drives and feels more nimble than...
  9. ZF or F1 transmission in GranTurismo?

    GranTurismo
Let's stay on topic. I have given an honest assessment of the difference between ZF & F1 equipped cars. The measure for performance is obviously handling on a race track irrespective of whether a car is suitable for that or not - and as I said both cars are markedly different with the F1...
  10. ZF or F1 transmission in GranTurismo?

    GranTurismo
That's not accurate. The F1 transmission was sold in US market in the GranTurismo S variant on 2009 and discontinued thereafter for clutch warranty reasons (American market was sensitive to that at the time hence Maserati made the decision to bin the F1 transmission for that market after...
  11. ZF or F1 transmission in GranTurismo?

    GranTurismo
Haven driven BOTH on track and Back-to-Back (First ZF then MC Shift) the MC Shift is the better handling car by a mile! Haven driven BOTH on the road (high speed run on Autobahn and on twisty roads) the MC Shift is the better handling car (ZF tends to understeer).
  12. MC Stradale - "Gearbox Unavailable" Error

    GranTurismo
Owner cannot do it unless he/her has the necessary tool (SD2/3 or equivalent). Dealer would have the tool.
  13. Maserati Battery Charge Maintainer?

    GranTurismo
It was introduced with cars built from September 2015 onwards - at least here in EU.
  14. What makes the MC Stradale's 'Race' mode so loud?

    GranTurismo
As the previous poster says, its so loud -compared to US version- due to different engine programming (ignition timing) because of the F1 gearbox applied on the car. There's a thread mentioning this somewhere here ...
  15. Ordering GranTurismo

    GranTurismo
You hear all manner of news regarding the fate of the next GT lately. However the following facts can be stated for sure: There current GT will continue production until at least 2017 (and perhaps 2018). Source: here is an article about this from the local news papers in Modena - Maserati...
  16. Officially the most reliable car I've ever had.

    GranTurismo
Its a QP V spinoff, so a very mature platform and it shows in its reliability track record - especially the facelift models which received engine variator part update. I myself did 65,000 Km on mine in 2 years with no major issues or surprises. No car is bullet prof per say, but was very happy...
  17. Hmmmm 2009 with F1 or 2011 MC sportline?

    GranTurismo
I have owned a 2009 GTS F1 for 2 years, driven it for 65.000 Km (no clutch change, only 20% worn-off during that time) and I can say was totally satisfied and will get another GT SPORT F1 for sure!! The jolts and judders azapa reports when cold has less to do with the transmission and more to...
  18. New Owner of 2009 GTS with F1 Tranny, seeking advice

    GranTurismo
Hi Craig, Thanks too for your post and for trying not to go off course :-) Good to hear they didn't put ATF oil on US cars!. In the EU they keep putting ATF oil... and that's what was on my car initially! Keep up the good stuff :-) Cheers!
  19. MC vs. MC Stradale

    GranTurismo
There is a different thread where this has been discussed here http://www.maseratilife.com/forums/granturismo/80953-mc-stradale-owners.html They are two VERY different cars (much more than just cosmetics)! 1) Stradale is lighter 2) Stradale has carbon ceramic brakes. MC does not 3) Stradale...
