Just bought a 2010 gran turismo and they aid oil change requires 9 quarts . I put it in and ran vehicle and it still has nothing on stick

That's not unusual. This is a 4.7L V8.
What was unusual was my Boxster with the 2.5L H6 needing 10 quarts of premium Mobil 1.

side note the oil filter will suck up a bit of oil the new, new oil on the shiny dip stick is hard to read look closely and in the light if you put it in it's in there i did mine Friday and read full until started then nothing on stick had to add some more then spot on good luck
FYI. My low oil light came on after driving it on and off (less than 500 miles) so I added a bit of oil at a time so as to not overfill it but the light stayed on with the dipstick showing adequate oil each time I checked after the fill.
Finally I just dumped the whole quart in there and the light went off. The dipstick showed the same level of oil. YMMV.
