I had an opportunity to test drive a 2011 Gran Turismo S today and I was wondering how the 09 GT S with MC shift would feel like. I noticed that the automatic in the 2011 is very smooth, but when I down shift it doesn't blip the gas like my F430 or Gallardo does.

Does the MC shift do that? For a daily driver which transmission would be the way to go? Thanks

I use my MC Shift as a daily driver with no issues whatsoever, it really is an incredibly good system. Which transmission you prefer will be down to your driving style and what you want out of the car. The MC Shift is much more direct and has slightly better throttle response whereas the auto will be softer but easier in stop start traffic. Try both but I for one would not change from my MC Shift to the auto.

All fair points so far.

The MC Shift is very similar to the box in your F430 whereas the auto is smooth and has no clutch to replace. I have the auto and love it. The manual mode is great and sport auto is pretty handy. Normal auto likes to change up fast but that is emission legislation for you.

Drive both and decide.

I'm new and have been considering a GT, my question is on the cars with the F1 tranny I notice some have the shift lever and some have the two buttons like the 430, can the shift stalk be replaced with the 2 button plate ?
