I don't know if '09s are any different , I have a '13 and the mode button tasnam mentioned ( not the radio menu ) is what I used to have the rpm graphic on . Once you push it it becomes the default setting .
I would say MODE button to turn the RPM gauge ON and then the Menu settings in the infotainment room remove the Jukebox from showing whilst playing..

Yet again, using mode button I come up with trip a, trip b, tpms, seat heat driver, seat heat passenger. Don't see anything related to RPM indicator.

Hmm, I'll have to check that again today, the last time I set it up like that it was nearly a year ago, so my memory could be fuzzy, but I could swear it was the mode button ( I try to stay away from messing too much with the radio menus / sub menus because I always manage to mess something up and then I have to look everything up in the multi media manual )

As far as I'm aware it works only in manual mode. I havent touched my car since last weekend so I'll try to click through it tonight when I get home. I do know for a fact that the radio still works just fine when I have the tach and gear display on, which is 100% of the time since I always drive the car in manual & sport mode. I have toggled the display over with just the button to see what it did but toggled it back.

Can someone tell me what they see in the mode settings? Press the mode button and what do you see? Maybe I am missing something there? That said, its always possible that it wasn't an option for a 09 or perhaps came with a firmware update. Do the dash panels/settings have firmware updates on Mas? Cheers guys.

I clicked through it this morning before work. I used the mode button on the left of the steering wheel and it toggled the DIC through trip a and b, info, RPM etc. The RPM screen had an on and off setting. I dont remember what others there were but this is how I turned it on when I first purchase the car.

OK, looks for sure that I do not have that option. Wonder if @Jason knows if it can be updated through firmware?

Checked my mode button, it goes through the trip a, trip b, TPS, seats warmers, and the next one is RPM . Mine shows On, and I have no clue what you would push next to scroll to off, but I'm not taking any chances, I'm leaving it on.

I have all those options with the exception of RPM. Obvious to me that I don't have it. Shame.

The tachometer is sufficient. The light show is just fluff.
IMHO
I like fluff!!!!! LOL :grin2:

Did you scroll down to OK and push the center button? (step 6) It's not enough to deselect Radio, you also have to say OK. If you just push Menu, or Esc, or let it time out, or any other button, it doesn't apply the setting.
Yes mate. Done it, settings are saved and all three are unchecked. Still no joy. The option simply isn't there but thank you. I just wonder if any of the guys with an 08/09 have been successful getting the option.

seriously, you all have it. here's gratuitously detailed steps:

Been there and done that Aaron. Check out the image I posted earlier in the thread.

I went through the process outlined by Aaron (nice job!) and I too have no joy on my 2013 convertible. Oh well, the tachometer works for me. I thought this would be a cool thing to see.
