I'm currently looking at two options and can't decide. 2010 GranTurismo vs. 2010 Audi R8 for about the same price range...German vs. Italian!!!...from a reliability perspective, what do you guys recommend?
thanks in advance.

From strictly a reliability standpoint, the Audi might have an edge. The problem with the question is that apart from a price and having four wheels with two doors, those cars have almost nothing in common. You should focus a lot less on reliability on a lot more on what kind of car you want. I feel that you will have better reliability with Lexus/Toyota or Acura/Honda but you aren't asking. Perhaps you should just go drive the two and see which one grabs your soul.

6 months, 2300 miles. Battery went flat as I didn't have on a tender (you absolutely must get one if leaving a week or so between driving it). Dealer fitted a radar detector with display in mirror.....the mirror rattled like a son of a bitch. Dealer fixed but was only on 3rd attempt when I stood over them making sure they wrapped the harness inside the mirror with foam insulation.

Other than that no issues. Get one.....you'll love it !!

Audi R8 might be a more straight forward car but the four seats and the beauty can make you swing more towards GT.

I have had some strange issues with my 2008 like many others. I am thinking of selling it and getting a Aston or r8

I bought a new 2012 GT. Been great so far. Use it as a DD. Have 20k+ miles on her. No problems other than a dead battery which was replaced under warranty about 2.5 yrs. Runs great. And looks great. And sounds great.

2 yrs and about 7k in (crap winters and avoiding some anti-maseratite sentiment from the "higher ups" at work - young/hardworking + Maserati = older haters) have kept the miles lower than I thought, so I don't jinx it, let's say I will be going for my 2nd annual oil change/check soon and a darn TPMS recall - that's all. Otherwise, a friend has one slightly older but a serious DD about 23k give or take...his lumbar insert stitching popped and sagged but it was pulled back up and restitched under warranty. I will say these cars don't like storage though so some blizzardy stretches and a low battery did make some indicators light up but they went away after warming up and/or battery tending.

Best part is, he had a couple porsches in the recent past and he's had more issues with them than his GT-S. His poor panamera blew an engine and he didn't even do anything abusive to it, it was under 2 yrs old! After the engine was replaced under warranty, he traded it for his Mas and he never looked back.

Had a decent amount of minor issues with his Audi A6 and BMW 5. I know, I picked him up a few times at service.
