No. There is no center console in the GS. Typically there is a CD changer in the trunk.

So, based on the information out there, and the pictures I've seen, I don't think my mod will work in the GranSport.

1. Car must have a EXTERNAL CD CHANGER. I've been told some GS do have an EXTERNAL CD CHANGER in the trunk, BUT . . .

2. I read on an different forum thread that "The Coupes and GS cars use different radios \ cd changers. The Coupes (and QPs) have Blaupunkt changers, the GS has a becker changer and headunit."

This is obviously problematic. My mod or a mod like mine could possibly work, BUT . . .

3. I don't know if the connectors are the same. My mod uses the standard ISO connectors that Blaupunkt uses, and are also found in the QP and the Coupes and numerous other cars with OEM Blaupunkt systems. Even if male and female connectors are the same . . .

4. I can't be sure that the pinouts are the same. I've seen another thread where the person posted some pinout diagrams, but then was asked to take them down by Maserati or someone (possible proprietary or intellectual property, I'm not sure, don't remember if it was for a GS or other). I think, for example, that the pinouts on the Peugeot's Blaupunkt system with the 'same' IDC-A09 EXTERNAL CD CHANGER (same name, but actually a different part number) are different than other Blaupunkt stuff.

Even if the pinouts are the same, or I had the pinout information and could make the adjustments (something I'm not comfortable with and wouldn't do) . . .

5. There isn't a good place to hook it up. The QP and Coupes both have a very convenient location to connect my mod. Assuming the GS has the CD CHANGER in the trunk, uses Blaupunkt ISO connectors, the pinouts are the same, there are only 2 places my mod could probably be hooked up. 1) In the truck, or 2) behind the headunit.
The way most vehicles with this type of setup work it that there is a short cable coming out of the CD Changer. That is connected to a very long cable that runs all the way to the back of the headunit. Basically, a wiring harness just like every other wiring harness in the vehicle. Makes CD CHANGER replacement easy.

If you hook up my mod in the trunk, I don't know how great that will be to have your iPod bouncing around in the trunk with no way to changing songs, etc.

If you hook up my mod behind the headunit, this is a whole different ballgame that I am absolutely not comfortable with. There are multiple problems with this scenario.

1. Even if the connector in the trunk is the right Blaupunkt ISO connector, the one behind the headunit probably isn't. This is how the QP is setup. My mod cannot be connected to the back of the headunit. It has to be connected where the short CD CHANGER cable terminates.

2. I don't want anyone trying to do it themselves to install my mod and damaging the headunit (I'm sure extremely expensive to replace) during removal or reinstall. Or scratching some of the interior, cracking some panel, ahhh the nightmare possibilities go on and on and on.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED.
If you like Do-It-Yourself, that's great, but . . .
PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED.

3. If you are spending the cash on Professional removal of the headunit, at that point, why not just drop the cash and replace the whole setup. I've seen people talk about complete new systems anywhere from $800 to $5000. And they'll probably have Bluetooth also.

So bottom line, don't think my mod will work in the GS. Even it if does, iPod would probably be stuck in the trunk. My mod never requires removing the headunit. If you are removing the headunit yourself, might want to first get your head examined by a professional, and after that professional tells you that you are crazy, go get a professional to remove the headunit. Don't remove the headunit to install my mod. The connector probably isn't right. And since you are paying a professional to remove the headunit, just drop the money and get a top-of-the-line stereo system with all the bells and whistles like Bluetooth, ipod/iphone hookup, etc.

Sorry for the bummer news for you GS owners.
Sincerely, DeloreanPilot

what is the best option out there for a mod that will make an iphone 5s work in a QP 2007? it has the 5-cd changer below the steering wheel.
Thanks in advance!
Victor Peru.
Certainly not the best option out there but it sure serves me well.

Mine was for my iPhone 4S, for 5S just make sure you get a different cable or an adaptor.

My mod will work with the QP 2007 and an iPhone 5S.

You'll need one of those adapters from Apple that changes the 30-pin connector to a lightning connector. I recommend the OEM ones from Apple. I haven't had any luck with the aftermarket ones on ebay.

Or I have a bluetooth one, but with Bluetooth, you can't charge your iPhone.

Does anyone know how to set up your phone in an 06 QP? Got the car with missing nav CDs and tire compressor manual and anything else a dealership could pawn off on eBay. I hate having all the phone buttons and not being able to use them. The screen says tele. off but doesn't give you an option to turn it on?!. Also are there any nav update CDs that would work for this model? Btw it's an executive if that makes any difference.
