Unfortunately my Gran Turismo is an early 2008 and does not have bluetooth. Any other ideas?
Yes you could spend a few thousand dollars to replace the entire audio system with one that has BT built in. But you'll still need to keep the stock Infotainment system because it controls many of the car's functions.

Or, you could spend a few hundred and install what I mentioned above, as my car is also an early 2008 with no stock BT . Other than those 2 ways, I don't know of any way to add BT .

That is a very smart solution!

I don't have a aux audio port either which I what I presumed you had already in your center console. Are you saying that I can have one installed by a local shop?
Yes. But it's not just an aux audio input cable, it's an iPod 30 pin interface. A simple audio input cable would require you to physically attach your phone's audio output to the cable, so you wouldn't have BT.

The one in my car is installed in the center console and is made by iSimple. I'm pretty sure it's this one:

The iSimple MediaWire IS76 - RCA Audio/Video Connector - iPod, iPhone, iPad

Then you just add a BT dongle like this:

Amazon.com: Patuoxun Bluetooth A2DP Music Audio Receiver Adapter for Bose Sounddock and 30-Pin iPod iPhone Dock Speaker: Computers & Accessories

Hey AJF, I have a question for you. I also have an early 08 GT and it has no USB, AUX or any type of way to connect my iphone to it at all. How exactly did you get that Isimple Mediawire installed, do you remember the shop name? I want to have it installed, but every audio shop is looking at me like I'm from outter space. Also, how do you get the music playing from the mediawire source to play over the CDs or jukebox. Any info or help would be most appreciated!

Please help

It was already installed in my car, probably through the dealer. It is basically an Apple 30 pin iPod connector wire that connects to the AUX input of the audio system (plus there's another wire for power ). Then you add a Bluetooth adapter that I linked to, to the iPod connector which allows you to pair your phone to the audio system. See my posts above.

I'm surprised the audio shops don't get it because I think it's pretty straightforward. I'd ask the dealership about it to see what they say.

After you figure it out, I find myself having to initiate the connection every time I enter the car. I go to Bluetooth on my iphone 5 and hit the BT_DEVICE button and it connects.

In your glove box do you have any type of plug ins or USB? I totally understand the whole media wire thing with the Bluetooth connection and I think it's genius, but I don't understand how the infotainment knows to play music from the iPod connector over the music played by the jukebox, cd or radio. Does your screen on the infotainment recognize that the iPod connection is plugged in? Some 08 GTs are different depending on if was manufactured before a certain time and I think I got the primitive early model that doesn't recognize anything.. I'm on a quest to figure all this out. Also, I understand how the media wire connects via the red, white and yellow connections but I'm told that my unit doesn't have those type of connections on the back. I'm hoping if yours is like mine than there is a way.

I have a USB connector in my glove box, but I don't use it, and I believe that the iPod connection takes the place of it. As far as how it interfaces with the Infotainment system, it's strictly a dumb connection, you can't control the iPhone with it. Basically you turn on the stereo, switch to AUX, then select and play music via the iPhone touchscreen. I think that's the best you can do with a 2008, short of replacing the audio head end unit, but you still need to keep the stock infotainment system because it controls much more than just audio. There's a thread here somewhere where a member named Monty did just that.

I think AJF's solution works because the Infotainment system in his car included a port for the USB. The iPod integration took the place of the USB connection. I'm guessing his USB no longer works, but would be curious to know if it does. My '08 does not have the USB in the glove box. My local shop quoted me over $2200 to install a Tooki bluetooth interface NAV-TV Corporation: TookiIMAS Maserati Bluetooth Factory Integration

At some point I tried to use the USB but it didn't work At first I thought I may have loaded the wrong type of music files on the USB, but then I realized that the iPod adapter must have taken it's place as the AUX In.

It's odd that mine has the USB and some don't. Was it a mid-year addition, or an option or what?
