I only get the "gear unavailable" warning when the car heats up after driving for 15-20 mins. Initially, when I take out the car and is cold, I can shift down without any issues.
I took the car to a indy shop yesterday. He topped up the fluid (F1 fluid?) and I guess did some adjustments. I picked up the car and drove home on the highway. No issues. I took the car out in the evening again, drove it for 20 or so minutes in city and no issues. Then suddenly, got the "transmission failure" warning. It happened when I was approaching a stop sign and was trying to manually shifting down from 3. The gear got stuck, got the "gear unavailable" warning, couldn't shift down or put in neutral, then 2-3 seconds later got he "transmission failure" warning. I turned the car off immediately, waited 10 seconds and fired it up. From there on I drove in auto mode.
This never happened before. I only use to get "gear unavailable" when shifting down. After the "transmission failure", was getting the same warning when shifting up too. At this point I had been driving the car for 30 or so minutes.
So, this morning I took the car for a drive in the city again. Drive around for 15 mins in a stop and go traffic. Didn't get the "transmission failure" this time or anything. Shifting down was okay too. No issues.
I'm guessing the new error I got yesterday was probably because of the adjustments they might have done at the shop? What could have done to cause this? Point of Initial Slip (PIS) setting? I don't think he adjusted the PSI because doesn't that reset the clutch readings?
Unfortunately, I couldn't pick up what the tech was saying when I asked what was done. He spoke very quickly and it just went over my head :ashamed:
