Hello, all. On the brink of buying a new Quattroporte S, and I'm trying to get an idea of how "tempermental," or how much extra maintenance it is going to need above and beyond the normal scheduled service appointments...I have been driving a Mercedes CLS63 AMG, and it has never broke down or required any additional service beyond the usual brakes/tires turnstile of most high-performance sportscars...What can I expect?...Anybody?

The QP S is a fantastic car, and you can drive the heck out of it. Mine is a 2010 and the first service is not due for 24 months, or 12,500 miles, which is less often than my wife's mini-van. I have had no issues whatsoever and in 2 weeks time will have owned the car for a year. Great daily drive.......

....and the QP GT S is even nicer IMHO. The addition of the opening of the exhaust in sport mode, along with the matching throttle blip on downshifts (I think this is only on the MY2009+ QP GT S, but I could be wrong), and other aesthetic/tech (e.g., the lovely concave aggressive grille) are worth the extra $$. If you're coming from the AMG line, then I suspect money is not too much of an issue, so if you can, spend it on the QP GT S. If you think QP's are exclusive, the QP GT S is even more so.

I agree-I am sorry I did not by the QP GT S. It was a mistake, although the one my dealer had in stock was nowhere near as nice as my QP S, colors and option wise......

Lol. I think most people would just be happy to be in a position to purchase such a car! When I sourced mine, I had specific options in mind. I told the dealer that if he couldn't get the options I wanted, then order it from the factory. Fortunately, in Canada, the QP GT S is exceptionally rare, and it happened that there was a car that had exactly what I wanted option wise. New, 2011, factory fresh with 10 Kms, which I assume came from the PDI.

I've gotta tell you, even at 30 Km/hr in 1st gear, in sport manual mode, the car sounds insane (F1 car-like). I think a lot of people spend $$$$ with aftermarket exhaust with user selectable valve controls etc, and in the end, they wind up sounding similar to the stock QP GT S in sport mode. Buy the QP GT S.

Mine: Aluminum racing pedals, all leather (usually comes with leather/alcantara) red stitching, red piping, alcantara headliner, heated seats
(even spring in Nova Scotia is cold), front and rear parking sensors, Titan Tex composite fibre throughout, rear climate control, and some other stuff.
For 2011, iPhone and iPod connectivity is perfect - no issues at all with bluetooth or otherwise. I use the USB all the time, and have a 32Gb USB stick with all of my music on it. The Jukebox function is also great.

One word of advise: DO NOT compromise. It's better to wait (if buying used) to find exactly what you want. In addition, the QP GT S re-sale will be better than the other models given that they make fewer (limited production).

Finally, pictures online do not do the car justice. The car looks absolutely magnificent in person. You may think the small changes (concave grill, lower suspension, multitrident wheels, etc) are trivial, but honestly, from the front, the QP GT S looks like it has 900 bhp and can go 250 mph. From the rear, well you just have to be scared by the twin oval exhaust and wider wheels/stance- simply stunning.

Michael summed it up perfectly: buying any other QP but the GT S is a mistake.

I know, I know, hingsight and all...but you should have pushed for the dealer to find you a GTS in your preferred color elsewhere (or an acceptable color features combo) and got him to do a dealer trade!

I cannot for the life of me figure out why someone hasn't snapped this one up from Ferrari Maserati of Seattle on Autotrader:
(note: I prefer the greys over blacks so now I've gotta get my ship to come in sooner!)

My Naples dealer has had one in stock for ages but not in a color I could live with. I like the QP in Blue Oceano............I have yet to see one for sale in that color!

No offense but we get a thread asking these questions ONCE A WEEK (at least).

Please, if you just scroll down a few lines or even to the next page, the issues you are asking about has been answered, skinned and dissected many times. Do a search.

It gets really tiring answering the same thing over and over again....
