yessir! Thus the wise ones among us are doing our homework now!! Also the 2022s will be at 150 this year. The 2023s will be in the near future.

If you're talking about a BASE model ... maybe 150k (USD right?) ... about a 30% depreciation over 2 years ... pretty much in line with other cars, but even that, I doubt it. I'd be highly skeptical that it is a car that has issues (like been in an accident). If you are talking about an upgraded one, or a special run ... forget it. You'll be waiting a long time to pay $150k. It also depends on the market. It's not great right now due to interest rates ... but when you have 100 people lining up to pay $150k for a car ... it's going to sell for more than $150k ... you're simply not going to get a vehicle that sold for $260k brand new with options dropping to $150k in 1.5 years, particularly considering they are in limited supply ... good luck with that. You can't make the mistake of assuming what happens to the Ghibli is a direct analogy ... it's comparing two completely different cars and demographics. Most people who are buying MC20s aren't in financial trouble ... they are taking advantage of the subdued economy and buying everything up.

I'm not even sure you will see 2022's at an average of $150k this summer ... maybe the odd ball car that's probably been abused, or in an accident ... so be careful, you get what you pay for. There's a 2022 in Toronto going for USD 265k righ now ... no way he's dropping by another $115k ... not a chance. And that's the only 2022 that is for sale within a 400 mile radius of Toronto.

Anyhow, time will tell, but I think a lot of this is wishful thinking ... there will be depreciation, but forget about a steal ... it just doesn't add up.

For me personally, I was just talking ish about trying to get a "great deal MC20." :p
I'm 58 years old, my days of paying $150k for a vehicle are looooooong behind me. Hell, I'm likely not even paying $50k for my next one. My money is mostly spent on fine dining, travel, and fishing the great salmon streams of the world...yeeeaaaa buddy!

There are 2023 new vehicles listed for $40k off (~15%) off. I don’t believe there is another manufacturer with so many NEW 2023 vehicles languishing .
Agreed on that ... it's in fact what cemented my decision. I think right now is a great time to buy a NEW MC20 ... because dealers need to move the stock to make floor space. But don't forget, and I just went through this, there's freight, PDI, luxury taxes, normal taxes, admin fees, etc. That all chews into that $40k discount.

In any case, my point is ... there are SOOOOOO many people wanting to get their hands on a used MC20 for $150k ... and very few vehicles in supply ... that I doubt the price would ever get there. I don't think we should assume the MC20 will depreciate like the Ghibli ... where there's 10 on each dealer lot. It's a different market and demographic. I think the MC20 will depreciate a bit, which is normal, even for a Ferrari 458 or 488, and then hold steady after that. $175k to $180k USD (plus tax) is my guess for the basic used models. Lower than that, I'd start getting worried there's something wrong with the car.

Anything with unconventional doors will hold value better. You just have to compare with 10 yr old Mclarens.

So many. 50 or a hundred?

Why so much MC20 hate ?

As far as beauty, our MC20 was in the superclass at Amelia this past weekend. We parked beside an Enzo, STO, Bugatti, Pagani, Viper ACR-E, Carrera GT and a few others. It got a ton of attention - literally more than most of the others! Performance wise it has the 0- 60 times of most of the hypercars there. Of course the pagani top speed was insane but it beat all the numbers at the Mclaren corporate display as well as many others there. People were laughing at the tesla "golf carts" : the sentiment was they are fast but are basically quick golf carts. No serious supercar owner would admit to even liking one. Yes. the sound is the weak point but the style and numbers are there to back that up.

Hate on them all you want, I'm still in awe at the love it got at the most prestigious car event on the east coast. Not every supermodel can run a 5 minute mile LOL. I'm perfectly fine with mine being the most beautiful underdog

No hate from me, that thing is gorgeous...a modern-day masterpiece! (y)

I’ll have to have a talk with the Cars & Coffee fellow Ferrari/Lambo /Mclaren crew who also DAILY DRIVE Tesla plaids…. That they are being laughed at
The misinformation that some post is quite amusing. Thx for the chuckle provided 👍
I know at least 25 exotic owners who own a PLAID or A LUCID Air used for a DIAILY DRIVER….but carry on with some more nonsense 🍿

Excellent points, and beyond being a fantastic car in itself, the MC20 is the basis for derivations such as the MC20 GT2 race car and the awesome MCXtrema:

Looks very quick and agile, and a ferociously sounding car!

I think we need to take the comments in humor. The reality is ... the plaids are incredible in straight lines ... forget about a track which needs good braking and handling. The curb weight simply does not result in an agile vehicle. I'm sure anyone who also owns a Ferrari/Lambo/Mclaren will agree. Now, if I rocked up to a quarter mile event ... I'm taking the plaid, and for good fun, I'll wear grandpa shorts and long socks with open toe sandals.

Exactly
it’s DD not an exotic/ weekend toy
Which was my exact point in previous posts
It’s not winning any beauty contests or track events
but makes a great daily with all the performance / tech/ safety 👍
Thx

I have no idea why you are on an MC20 forum with your fascination for EVs and just having to be a know-it-all. You seem like a miserable contentious person. Maybe start hanging out more with your exotic owning friends and become more likeable. Just a suggestion: start posting on the Tesla forums as they are more your crowd it would seem.

For current/former owners MC20 owners: any mechanical, design flaws, fit and finish issues ?
Haven’t seen any chats yet?
I've had none whatsoever. The 2023s did have a few production change that were from 22 issues. Minor things such as ground straps etc but overall it's been fantastic. We were at Amelia Island last weekend and the judges could not believe the styling. We were the only car to score perfectly on style for the supercar class.

I do know of some cosmetic changes, standard lift, some additional carbon bits, but was more concerned about the Maserati “reliability“. May be too early to know.
The Artura has proven to be a Mclaren fairly early on. I would hate to be one of the early adopters.
I was hoping to hear from more owners, with more miles.
