Help Please? P1340 code...no description

Hello,

I was hoping someone here can give me some insight...I recently had a check engine light come on. When pulling the code, it lists p1340. There is no description. I assume it is a factory code. Does anyone know what that is or where I can find a listing of the factory specific codes? Thanks again and BTW this is for a 2002/3 Coupe...

It is a code for a camshaft position sensor error.

Agreed. It's likely the camshaft position sensor on Bank 2.

Maserati has had a fair bit of camshaft position sensor / variator issues.

Thanks for the responses...so P1340 is most likely a cam shaft position sensor...most likely on the bank 2....is both banks the same and if so, can I just get one, put it in and if it recodes, switch it over? Is it a hard install? Thanks again for all the help! :thumbsup:
