Forgot to answer your question about the shocks. I'm still on the factory skyhook sport shocks. I would prefer to keep it that way. I chatted with @lambertius who happens to be in your neck of the woods. Not sure if he still has them but he mentioned that he had a full set of factory shocks on the shelf he might be able to part with. He also has access to Ceiko and some other options for third party upgraded shocks if you need to completely get rid of the factory ones. I'm sure if he still has them he will give you a good deal. He's a good guy working on resolving several major issues with out 4200s.

I'm just looking for two at the moment, but since Maserati is so diligent at supplying spares I'd probably buy six of them. One of the suppliers in Italy just wrote me back and told me he could not get them. I asked if he would be interested in purchasing a few if we were to get them made. I'll let you know his response.

Sounds good. I think it's a good idea to get an active list going to see if it makes sense. Keep me posted.

I'm n ot even sure it I really need it replaced. I only bought the single one because I realized none were available anymore. I was suggested I might need it so I bought it. They will need one as a sample and I'll use this one if it's not needed.

My car needs new sway bars also. I was looking at them on Formula Dynamics website last night. They have adjustable coil overs for our cars. I'm not sure whether the coil over kit contains everything that you need. Does it still need the bump stocks? I wrote and asked them. If I can't find the hyperblocks this is the route I might take.

I fool with a lot of old BMW's, almost anything is available for them. If it's not, BMW mobile traditions will make it. I'm dissapointed in Maserati not supporting a lot newer model cars.

I know someone who has the sway bar installed who is on this forum if you want to chat with him.

Already chatted with FD ... Their coilovers use the original hyperblock from your old ones I believe.

The sway bars are on sale by the way presently at FD.

Well that sort of eliminates that fix for the shocks then, back to square one. I'm going to order the sway bars off of them though. I found that some Ferrari parts, and also some Fiat parts fit the car. Any luck cross matching from the other marques?

Above in this thread I attempted to get the part superceding a Ferrari part that looks similar but they are not the same. Check the first few posts with the images I included. While similar they are not quite the same. I have not looked into any other hyperblocks from fiat or anyone else. Haven't found any info on them.

The VPS rebuild solution is the only solution for sport hyperblock replacements. Otherwise if you have a standard 4200 those are generally still available.

They look very close. I'm not 100% sure if the standard ones can be used in place of the sport ones. I would assume even if they did you would probably need to change all 4. I would check with lambertius because there are tons of people out there using third party struts. I would imagine there has to be another solution from another company.

How do you know you're hyperblocks are needing replacement though?

I tried to change the shocks myself and got the top confused. One side wanted to push it up, the other down. The techs at Maserati walked me through the reset process over the phone. I tried it about ten times without success. Took everything loose and put the top up manually. I decided it was above my skiil set and decided to submit to rape and brought it to Maserati in Brisbane. They gave me a list of parts they need for it. I got almost everything from Scudia (sp?), they are looking for the hyperblocks for me at the moment. Maserati told me they are shot. I live in 'regional Queensland', in the sticks. So no Maserati techs out here. I was willing to pay them to sort everything on it. I'm not sure how long they will keep it for. Parts from Europe usually take a while to land. When they are through with it there is a high end detail shop down there I'm going to get a new top put on it and fix the sticky buttons. Then it should be close to 100%...hopefully. I really like the car.

I think I may have found them at a shop in Germany? The website said they are available to order. I just emailed them to verify. I'll let you know when I hear back from them.
So Maserati is telling you they are shot. I see. From my research I found that they are rarely ever an issue. I'm curious what maserati's plan is if they can't source the parts.

The "available to order" thing isn't real. It shows up that way on every parts website I've found including Scuderia and Eurospares. The only way I'm familiar with is to source them from a used pair.

Yeah, that's why I didn't order them and pay for them. When they come back to work on Monday hopefully they'll replay. Scuderia helped me out with a few things they didn't have. They found the second shock and bushings for them. We'll just have to see what the Germans say. I'll keep looking.

Hi Guys, Just wanted to post an update. The Ferrari hyperblocks are readily available and they fit our cars. Maserati of Brisbane replaced the shocks on mine and used the two Ferrari hyperblocks that I provided them. That being said, I still had to source other parts from Europe and a recycler. The spyder is now at the restoration shop getting all the sticky buttons replaced and a new top installed.

Are they the same parts numbers included in this post? I have both and one is a superceded Ferrari part. The size and dimensions of the hole in the center and the rubber are different. Let me know which hyperblock part number works and I'll update the post.

Sorry for the late reply, the car has been at Maserati for about eight months.
Ferrari Shock Absorber Mount – 114812
These are the ones that I used on my car. They work.

Maserati of Brisbane put them on. I seriously doubt they would have used them if any major modification was involved.

The timing cover is weeping oil on the front of the engine. I ordered all the parts to sort it. If the cover has to come off I'm going to replace the timing chain while I'm in there. The chain is also a Ferrari part.

Something else to consider. I had a rattle from the front on the driver's side that turned out to be the horns that had broken off their mounts. They're in the wheel well and very poorly attached.

If you have Skyhook and the coilovers are apart I'd also suggest putting in the 33 spacer. That should allow you to adjust the height with the shock in the car. Otherwise the nut on the shock binds on the rubber spacer when you try turn it.

I'll have to check that out. But changing the mounts cured all the vibrations. I have a feeling one of them were completely broken?
