According to a German automotive magazine, the new GranCoupé comes with an all-electric powertrain over both axles (no word about power figures), the 3.0 liter V6 with 630hp, and a 2.0 liter four-cylinder hybrid with about 300hp.
Shit, I don't read anything about a V8 anymore. :cautious:

It seems my Granturismo is turning into an unsaleable enthusiast car...
Like the "MC20" lights in the new GT. Front end reminds me a bit of the Ferrari 599.

The V6 in the new GT is based off of the Neptuno V6 in the MC20.

You'll see this same engine in the top trim of other models like the Levante, Ghibli, etc. in the next few years. (This is one of the reasons why the MC20 will never appreciate like the MC12 did).

The V8 is dead in Maserati world, which is an absolute joke and a shame.

The famous V8 exhaust noise is a Maserati trademark and sadly is now only a legacy in our GT's.

Some better angles of the new GT

Short clip of a test mule...a bunch of ambient noise but can hear the engine note around the 17sec mark

I guess you are right. I am seriously thinking about buying a Ghibli or Levante Trofeo with the V8 biturbo engines. I have the impression that these will be the last true V8 Maseratis. And such a Ghibli/Levante Trofeo probably remains more exclusive than an MC20.

I'm surprised at the recent Chicago Auto Show that there was absolutely no word about the upcoming new GT at the Maserati booth. No timeline, no pricing info, etc. None. Nada.

I fear that with the ever-worsening chip shortage, we won't see the new GT hit the streets until at least 2024. (Given Maserati's history, even that is optimistic).

Right? Quads on a turbo v6? lol o_O
