Trickle charging a 2017 GTS

Can you trickle charge a 2017 GTS through the cigarette lighter adapter in the vehicle, or do you need to direct connect to the battery?

Yes you can, using the cigarette lighter on the left side in the trunk. That one is always on.

Just as easy to hook the 2wires directly to battery one time and leave a quick connect (deltran) in place. With electricals, just because you can doesn't mean you should....

Yup, it's clearly a neater and more convenient solution. I don't have to remove any covers or have a connector sticking out. Neither did I have to muck with the battery connections to install it. But to each his own.
