I have been hearing this buss noise with the door open I was thinking it was because the door was open Now that i have the top down I could hear it with the car off. Well it is the clock The clock is at two and does not work. I pushed in on the button and the buss noise stayed on So I know it is the clock I do not care if it works or not I am not going to take the dash apart for a clock. I am going to look in the book for the fuse. Does anybody know if the fuse goes to other things and the clock?? Any help would be great Thanks in Advance

Haven't checked on the fuse but have rthe same buzz sound. In mine., its gear turning but not connecting. I plan on removing it and seeing if I can fix it. Will let you know how that goes.

Hi Navcorr, thanks for the answer. Can you point me to a post or somewhere that can tell me how to get the screen out Thanks Again

With apologies, couldn't resit ;)

In fact, it's quite straightforward:

Protecting the surrounding leather insert a flat blade screwdriver into the slot on the side of the screen and pull forward. There is a slot on either side. It will be quite tight but it will shift. There are two connectors at the back of the screen - a white and a grey. Disconnect both to give yourself a bit more access in the dash recess.

Hey Navcorr, Please do not think telling me something that is simple will hurt my felling. I have some more question I heard there are springs around somewhere They will not be going by my head will they? Will there be anything else to take out to get to the clock/ If i can get to it I am going to spray some CRC Electronic cleaner on it . I have had great luck with this stuff I used it on my MG in 1970 when I came back from the Army It did not like to start in dam weather. The distributor cap was lose on them. I pulled the wires off took an inner tube put it around the distributor cap and tied it of

Thanks for being a good sport! I suspect you may of read of springs at the rear of the screen causing problems. If so, they are nothing to worry about when removing the screen. The springs are underneath the heat sink.

No, nothing else to remove but maybe a scewdriver will help release the clock connector. A woman's hand helps. No harm in trying a cleaner but wouldn't get your hopes up. The clock isn't like Masers of old - think Chinese Christmas cracker and you'd be getting warmer.

Thanks Again You can not beat the knowledge and friendly people on the car message boards I have been on the Corvette Forum for 22 years. I got to tell you something about a simple thing. I bought a 1990 Mercedes at the local auction years ago. The last thing i want when buying a car is for the over heating light to come on You guested it It came on after just a couple miles. I came home checked everything ,put my temp gun on it all was good I tried driving a couple more times same thing. So I got on the Mercedes Forum Looked up over heating for a 1990 See how you like this one The censor for the radiator and the windshield reservoir are the same one If the windshield reservoir in real low or empty the light will come on Now how in hell would anybody know that I could see a Mercedes Dealer(dishonest one) charging a few hundred for this one Last question I hope Do i have to pop both sides or if i do one it will come out
