  1. TCU Swap?

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
It certainly isn't straightforward or quick, but the possibility is interesting. The process is the same as hacking the ECU for the maps that people purchase for their chip tunes. The difficulty is building definitions. The easiest way to do this is just to change things and see what moves...
  2. Need to Overhaul All My Brake Calipers

Coupe, Spyder, GS Maybe try emailing the two companies listed in that thread and see if they'll supply a kit? Depending on the colour you want and luck, it might just be easier/cheaper to replace the whole set. You...
  3. 2005 Maserati Gransport Grille

Coupe, Spyder, GS From the part numbers it looks like they're all the same fit just black or chrome. As long as it comes off a Gransport it should be fine. I'm pretty sure the coupe is different.
  4. Catless Headers

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
For $1k you'll get a set of headers that are fitted to drop in, and probably with the ceramic coating too. Most of the price variation will come if the cheapest supplier runs out quickly or if there is a specific request.
  5. TCU Swap?

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
Yes, thanks, that is the correct link. I'm impressed you find it easy, I find reverse engineering stuff really hard. Maybe you can help us rebuild the partition tables on the bin files?
  6. TCU Swap?

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
It turns out that it is 100% possible to flash whatever TCU software you want onto your TCU. Whether or not that is a good idea is a different question and needs a bit more following up. You can find the process on how to bench flash the firmware here...
  7. Carbon Fibre Seat Backs

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
I've heard back from the local guy in Australia and they're not interested in taking on the work. So its $1600 USD a pair + shipping. If a few people buy in it will lower the costs. I need to pull my seat backs and send them off to the manufacturer in China. I'm bumping this to give anyone...
  8. Catless Headers

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
What do I even say to that? I'm pretty sure $1000 is less than $2900... What does Larini offer that the extra $1900 will buy? Inform me.
  9. Catless Headers

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
jlobo941 seemed to think there was something bad about building other cars. I was simply making the point that the principles do align; that is literally why we're taught them. And thank you for continuing to make that point that anyone can make a high powered engine. PSA: This thread is about...
  10. Catless Headers

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
I literally developed that LS1 kit. I literally said 'an LS1 kit I worked on'. I developed them from scratch. So a kit developed from scratch, by myself, for 8 cylinders, is sold by the client for a profit at $3500 USD, or less than an unboxed supercharger. For comparison, ITBs for Jenvey for...
  11. Catless Headers

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
Those aren't CAD drawings, those are screenshots of CFD analysis that was used to validate a design that was brought to market. That particular screenshot was made for one of the few things I've done that wasn't under an NDA. Here are the results: The application was a single make race series...
  12. Catless Headers

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
Rightyo spaghettio. But back to the point - if anyone wants some cheap headers modified to bolt in, drop me a message... P.S. The BMW S50B30 was the first production engine to crack 100hp/L for road use in 1991. The Honda F22C/1 was 124hp/L in 2000. Ferarri only matched that output with...
  13. Catless Headers

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
Yes you will. There are several ways around it though. The best would be to replace the secondary cat with a good high flow cat and put the emissions O2 sensor post that with a proper O2 extension. That is how Larini solve the problem if you buy their headers. If you wanted to be dodgy you...

  15. Slow Down Engine Warning - 2006 Gransport

    Coupe, Spyder, GS
You'll need to read the OBD codes to have anything more than a wild guess; but afaik the 'slow down' warning on this era of cars is usually related to the cats in some way. If you still have the primary cat in the header it could've failed in someway, by your description - potentially blocked.
