Erik, I appreciate you would want use to do the work however, I more than slightly worried it could turn into mess. I have never even heard of those people and I have been at this shop 25 years and in the area almost 30...I can just see a scenario were we get the engine in and it makes noise...I really want no part of it......sorry......Jason

    Hello Erik

Recently, you commented on a thread regarding my new clutch replacement where I'm having some issues. You mentioned about hopefully they resurfaced the flywheel...so I asked them and they said no...it looked fine. They should have resurfaced it anyways, right? This could be the reason I have vibrations, etc. While the car is in neutral i sometimes hear a grinding or grumbling sound. It feels like the gears are not strong anymore, meaning that i have to change the gears sooner than before at lower rpms because if not then i start feeling the vibrations more...any thoughts? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Hello I am researching the archives in regard to a problem that I am having. Just in the last few weeks I have noticed a click click click (seems more plastic on plastic or plastic on metal as opposed to a clunk or clinking noise I would expect with metal on metal) that I notice with the windows down, seemingly only when turning. The frequency definitely correlates with rpm or wheel speed (seems to be the latter more specifically as I can tell). I notice it especially in a multistory garage it is very noticeable due to the confined space and noise reflection. At high speed when cornering I cannot hear it not sure if it is wind noise and tire noise disguising it or if it indeed disappears. Did you ever find out the cause of your noise that you were describing on your thread in the middle of last month? Any help appreciated as I am going to the dealer in the next week or so but don't want to replace thousands of dollars of equipment and not solve the problem.

    Hi Erik,
Just stumbled upon your post about the same exhaust mod... Thats incredible. I own a 2008 granturismo 4.2l which is too quiet for my taste.
Would you happen to know whether that mod also works for a GT? ie are the GT and QP share the same exhaust muffler?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

HELP!! my 2008 had a slight ticking sound from 1400-1100 rpms on deceleration only. A very smart guy on here told me unlikely a variator since no ticking at idle or acceleration. I brought to a dealer they told me new variator @ $6000. i figured since it was mild i would dwait til fall ro winter to get fixed. so i had oil change and rizlone put in crankcase. the Ticking disappeared? dealer said bad variator would destroy the performance of the GT? but with no ticking what do i do? i assume nothing and wait to see if it gets worse?
