Thanks for your input. I suppose I should go by myself a "German" car now. We bought a 2014 Quattroporte because we enjoy the driving dynamics and exclusivity of the car. As I mentioned before, the blind spot monitoring that I wish it had was something we were able to look past, however, I feel as if the feature should be standard and is in fact a highly desirable one on any vehicle of any price point simply for the added safety it brings.
I am never going slow enough to have anyone in any place other than vanishing quickly behind my car on the right. I am from California, but now here in Europe people ONLY pass on the left and not drive slowly in the fast lane without moving out of others way when they come up on their rear. Quite convenient. I have had that feature in many cars that I have owned and own now and it is under rated, at east over here in Europe. I feel it is for sleepy drivers not paying attention. Drive faster to keep yourself awake.
