Valved mufflers on a "S" ?

We all know the GTS has valved mufflers, but a couple people with S's (from another thread) are sure they have valved mufflers on theirs. My 2011 does not.

So what does your S have?
Were they an option?

The wiki says this:
'The Quattroporte Sport GTS 4.7L V8 has a maximum power output of 440 PS, ten more than the Quattroporte S, owing to a revised intake and a sport exhaust system with electronically actuated bypass valves.'

My 2012 S has valved exhaust and I am pretty sure it was not an option. The differences are strange and make me wonder if this has to do with different parts of the world where the cars were shipped.

Were you the original owner? Also where are you?

The two images on the left are of mufflers without valves, the image on the right shows what the valve typically looks like.

We have not ran across any QP S with a valved exhaust installed from the factory. The only QP5 that we have seen with Valved Exhaust is the Sport GTS 4.7L model from 2009 to 2012. The 2008 model Sport GTS was also not valved.

However, we do offer Sport Valved Mufflers and a Valved Muffler Control system to add this feature to any Quattroporte. Please feel free to reach out by phone or email with any questions, always happy to help!

Best Regards,
