Part help needed - front lower grille

Hi. Still fixing little issues after my 7000 mile road trip last fall.

A barrage of mud clods struck the front of my car in Wyoming. It knocked out the right (passenger side) little grille under the headlight. I've found a new set, but it includes the left, right and center. I just need the right. The part number for the set is:

980139740

Does anyone know of a source for used? The new set is about $300, which seems a bit steep considering I only need part of the set. But, hey, if it's all that is available, I will have to pony up. Thought I'd look around first, though.

Thanks,
Hans.

Hmmm....

Probably. Funny, I spent quite a bit of time searching Ebay and didn't find that. The parts I found were miss labeled.

Part number isn't right, but that often doesn't mean much on Ebay. I'm using my phone at the moment, when I get home I need to research that a bit more on a bigger screen!

I saw that about the part # they listed for it but it's listed as a used part. I don't think that's an actual Maserati part number...it appears to be the sellers own internal part # assigned to it for inventory tracking/packaging purposes for the used parts they sell. I'd confirm it's for the correct side and the tabs match up to the side on your car that's missing it just to be sure. The only other two on eBay I came across are for the whole fog light plastic piece but for the drivers side.

If you search for the correct part number, you get a listing for the turn signal housing, which is blatantly wrong. Oh well. But I think the link you gave is probably correct

Ok I see what you're saying now, you're referring to the part number in the item description section...I was looking at the one in the title of the listing. That part number may have carried over from one of their other Maserati part listings and they were trying to copy/use the same template format. Regardless...if its the part you need great!... I would DEFINITELY take advantage of the "BEST OFFER" option. $90 total shipped for that is a lot in my opinion...If it was for the whole right side part it fits into, that's a different story.

I made an offer for the part.

The seller shows 2 part numbers in his listing. One is 185313, which is a trim piece that fits on the cylinder head of a 4200. The other is 670010764, which is the entire front grille for a Ghibli. Go figure.......

OK, so they took my offer. I basically had them pay the shipping, so $75 instead of $90.

I've looked for this part off and on for a couple of months, and what often shows up in searches is the fender "port hole" grilles, which look similar in photos even though they are much smaller.

We'll see.....

I'm wondering how the mud clods all got up and barraged your car. These must have been some animated zombie mud clods.

I was in Wyoming. Truck in front of me had a lot of fresh, thick mud all over it. Sensing what was likely to happen, I was looking for an opportunity to pass when some large pieces - like golf ball size or bigger - came off and peppered my car. Had mud bits stuck all over the car, including the windshield until I was able to find a gas station to clean things up a bit. Mud had some gravel in it, giving the clods a shrapnel like property. Ended up with some serious rock chips, and a minor chip in the windshield.
