Thanks guys. Spoke to them today and apparently one of the guys at the dealership is a moron. They called back and talked to one of the managers and the brakes were there all along. They did send the wrong front pads though. Gotta love some of the dealers. The place I’m getting the car from has showed me the time they spend on hold with the dealer and the emails, they aren’t pleasant to deal with at all! Car was in getting the safety inspection and work done, we’ll see what today brings.

Now this makes more sense... if only one of the guys at the dealership is a moron you are very lucky.

So it looks like the biggest delay in getting this car has been them trying to figure out what the vibration in the front it. It went to one place and they tried rebalancing the wheels, and apparently even changing a tire (although they were brand new). Finally they listened and found that one of the front rims had a little bend in it so then we had to find a reputable place around here that does wheel repair. Found a place and was to get the 1 wheel repaired, but the dealer I'm getting the car from feels bad for this being such a long process so he decided instead to have the recondition and refinish all of the wheels so that there are no issues or problems with any of them. I couple of them were curbed pretty bad from the previous owner so this was something I was planning to do anyways, but now I don't have to pay to do it. The wheel place says they should all be done no later than Tuesday, so the waiting game continues.

So to date they have done new rotors and pads on all 4 corners, new tires all around, oil and filter change, fixed the tiny bit of rust that was forming on the lower mesh grill inserts, removed the tiny dents that were in various little spots around the car and buffed and polished the entire car. Having all wheels fixed and refinished should be the final piece and I should be getting a car that's in pretty good shape.

See now, this is the kind of stuff I would have thought a good dealership would *already* do before putting the car up for sale, to guarantee top dollar and keep a decent reputation. Why were they even trying to sell it with all this stuff wrong?

Hell no...It's all about profit....They will try to get away with anything they don't have to fix...I deal with used car lots and used cars salespeople frequently...Not a fan....Most of them would make good politicians...J

That's why I said "a good dealership" and not "a used car lot." They are supposed to be quite different.

Yes, unfortunately a lot of the time it's all about the profit. The worst part is there are a lot of people that don't know any better and don't realize that there are ways to get a safety on a car that may not deserve it, amongst other horrors. I'm just glad I found someone that seems to actually care about the car and is taking the time to make sure everything is addressed before handing it off. He messages me and sends me pictures of everything that gets done and from the beginning made sure to put it in writing and sign off on the deal being voided at any time if I'm not happy with anything. There aren't many specialists around here so getting the appointments to get things done has been the challenge. The wheels should be the last stretch. I'm thinking once they've all be refinished and back to new condition, I may just get some aftermarket wheels to keep the OEM ones perfect, especially since they seem susceptible to bends. Hopefully this is all over this week!

Nice car and it looks like (based on U.K. specs) you have the Sports GT S look with the grill (much nicer inmho) and the dark metallic headlights....do post a picture of the interior! I am taking my 2010 QP v off on it’s 3rd annual grand tour to the South of France this year - they are glorious cruisers!

So after 2 weeks of shenanigans from the place that the wheels were sent to for repairs, the dealer finally messaged me to say I should be able to pick the car up today. He said the vibration is gone, and he sent me pictures of each wheel and they all look brand new. He said when he went to get the wheels there were 2 GT's there with bent wheels as well and they told him these cars bending wheels is very normal. Does everyone have that same experience, bending wheels? Should I take off this like new factory wheels and save them for if I ever feel like selling the car?

Finally! Wheels are all perfect. I’m going to spend the next few days driving it around to see if everything is good. Drives straight at one point I was feeling a bit of vibration around 110-125 km/h or so, but nothing above or below, kind of weird. I haven’t felt it since. Thank you everyone for your input, this 2 months and 2 cars later to get it all done lol.

Also remember that with the 20" wheels, there is VERY LITTLE side wall on the front tires...so road irregularities will be felt in the steering wheel.
