Grill insert and/or trident

Well, sadly the trident emblem in my silver grill insert (I have a base model grill) has broken. On Scuderia it says that the complete grill, list price $300, is NLA. Great.

So over on ebay, I see a cracked grill insert is going for $400 and a decent used one is more than $500!

Is there some way to just replace the emblem? Or I have to shell out $500 on this?

Maybe I'll just rip off the rest of emblem and stick a 3-pronged barbecue fork on there.

Those look great but.... how do you attach them to the grill insert? You have to remove the insert and then screw them from the back side?

The problem is that for the 2005 QP there is no part number for the emblem, you get it as part of the complete grill package. So I cannot verify if these parts would fit at all, although the last one you sent does include 2005 in the model range according to the seller.

Get copies from China off Ebay, they are indistinguishable from the ‘proper’ ones. I got some red stripe ones for my 06 QP

Can you confirm that installation is from the back side of the grill insert, and that the parts are somehow interchangeable? I have a cupboard full of wrong parts already...

Hey Again SeanFulop,

Attached are pictures showing how the trident badge is mounted on the base QP front grille(front and back view)....it should just bolt on. I can't confirm the badge screw posts and holes on grille match up...See if the seller can provide you some measurements to verify. For the price it's worth giving it a shot. M&MM

Well yeah it seems there is no "official" part for this anyway so, anything is worth a shot. The parts listings at Scuderia and Eurospares all show the trident emblem included with the purchase of the complete grill insert, there is no other way to order it. At least Eurospares claims they can still get the complete grill; Scuderia is saying NLA, Eurospares has it on special order available priced at about $300.

Maybe the badge is sold with the grille, but it is definitely removable. As mentioned, there are screws on the back.

Thanks for the information, it does look like those would fit my grill. The ebay photos are extremely limited and so I couldn't really see anything there.

Yeah...These eBay sellers selling aka "Maserati parts" along with a lot of other sellers and range of products they sell, know how to take the pictures and post them to show you just enough but not too much that will reveal the true manuf/origination/auth of them. Even the brand manuf. box/packaging/stickers/codes/upc#s/etc they have it all mastered in today's world. The will have people here in the US hold inventory for them to throw people off and keep them off their "china" trail and so it appears is from within US. They've been pulling this off along time and know all the tricks and with the advancement of technology they've pretty much perfected it. You would be VERY SURPRISED on some of the other items besides auto parts they are pulling this off on eBay with where even the best of eyes and experts cannot tell and we are talking big money items too. For these simple/easy to manufacturer car part items like this here, I don't mind bc they serve their purpose for the price especially when you see what they try to charge you for them getting them the right way. Do I agree with it no but at the same time look at how the quality of products have deteriorated over the years...why?...to make and keep more $$$ in pockets and at the end of the day depending on what it is...I will do the same with my families money after due diligence/sensible reasoning. If it's something that could affect safety or true/verified quality is needed, etc it's a different story.

The simple fact is that for the official Maserati grill badge, the only way to order it is part and parcel with the grill insert for $300 and it is listed as no longer available. In that situation I say bring on the forgeries! We've got to have something. It's going to be a story for our cars going forward I'm afraid.

Will this work: front trident # 8909600
On Scuderia about $111

I have gotten the Chinese emblems before and my main criticism is the adhesive is low quality and doesn't stick well. Shouldn't be an issue with bolt on ones.
