Hehe I don't argue on the internet, you just come off as a curmudgeon to me sometimes, and I can't help but poke you in the belly when I think you're being particularly grouchy. For what it's worth, I think you bring a tremendous wealth of knowledge to the community, and truly appreciate the time you take to share it with us. I don't have a problem with you at all, I just poke at the posts individually.

Skijt I have a 2003 with a blown head gasket and have been told it would cost more to replace the head gasket than to by a new engine. Is that true? Also if anyone has a link to parts to replace head gasket I would appreciate any help!

Frari Just a question, did you go back to the idiot who told you 8rings were broken and your sleeves scored and advise him he was a crook and a charlatan. He should be reported the thieving basket.

Frari Just a note, f430 ferraris have chains as do all the newer models as far as I know.

Elygs I actually had the entire car serviced when I had it there, wanted to let someone who knew what they were looking at really go over the car

Thank you for following up. It's shocking that someone would tell that you pretty much need a new engine. Did you have FCI redo the PPI? It might be a good idea so you know a little more about the condition of your car. Who knows what that idiot missed.

Craig I'm quite shocked it's not all 8 sets of piston rings.......good for you.

Good choice.

While I do not go above 50% throttle or 50%RPM when the engine is not up to temp, I don't think it would break all 40 rings. Or did it magically only break one ring per piston? And even if it did, your symptoms indicate something different.
