Hello, new to the forum

Hello all,

I am currently gaga over and actively shopping for a Quattroporte. Have only test driven one; a 2015 S Q4. Interested in comparing a Gen 5 S with the 4.7L vs. a Gen 6 V8 turbo to feel the difference. I imagine it is a big difference? Your thoughts? Thanks!

Really big differences between these cars... I would suggest to start by driving one of each. They really are completely different in feeling, handling, power, sound, electronics... night and day difference between the cars and honestly we have customers that really love both of them.

We will say that the QP5 4.7L variants are overall a very trouble free car that is a great value right now.

Hope that helps and best regards!

Thanks, I did drive them all. After the 2015 V6, I tried out a 2011 with the 4.7 and liked the power and the sound a lot better. Then a 2014 GTS 3.8 twin turbo and it was awesome.

I keep going back and forth between the 2012 and the v8 twin turbo. There are aspects of each I like

The power of course in the GTS but I like the body lines, headlights and dash design of the 2012

Best deals I have found: a black 2012 S with 39k for 28500 and a 2014 GTS with 43k for 31500 (but it is white and I want black)

I am torn...

My advice.. pick the model/options you want and wait for it to be the deal you want. Don't settle or you could be disappointed. I waited almost a year for mine, and there is not one thing about it that disappoints me.

Had I settled, I believe I'd be wanting/looking at others in envy.

Can't agree more with Jarhead3121... take a bit of time to figure it out, good cars are out there but you may have to be a bit patient.

Best Regards,

I appreciate that advice. In the end, I think if I don't go with the twin turbo V8 I will always want one, after all I'm an acceleration junkie.

It just that the body seems more bulbous and just a tick less attractive than the Gen 5's....

But they're both gorgeous,

I need them both!

Does this indicate the Gen 6 3.8 turbo is troublesome or less reliable?

Sounds like you kind of have your mind made up.. "Gorgeous but..." vs. "Gorgeous AND..."

The Ferrari 3.8L variants are used in quite a few cars... the new Levante GTS / Trofeo, Ferrari California T, 488, Portofino, GTC4, etc...

It's a good platform, we aren't hearing of a lot of troubles. We are actually working on our ECU Tune for the QP GTS 3.8L TT as we speak! Should have some good results to report back in another month or so

If power sways your decision making process and you like the QP GTS, just wait until you see what we'll have for this in the near future. Sport Cats are already an amazing upgrade but the ECU Tune is going to be fantastic.

Best Regards,

I have swayed the other way now, thinking I should go with the a 2012 or so GT S. I like the lines better and think I would love the 4.7 also

So I just learned that an S model can also be an executive? I was thinking all executive GT's had the 4.2

Having owned both the 2012 NA S and currently the 2016 TT GTS I would say that the fit and finish of the 12 was better as was the exhaust note (stock). On the other hand the comfort of the 16 and tech upgrades are way better. Acceleration is better as is styling and cabin room (imho). I love both cars for different reasons - you really can’t make a bad choice.

Can't help the allure of twin turbos... Going to see a '14 black beauty, but unsure of tortora interior, is it more brown or dark gray? Hard to tell from the photos. Do you think Nero Ribelli exterior and Tortora interior a good combination? Does black and brown go together- I know it looks good on a Doberman

Looks like you can officially welcome me into the fold. The 2014 GTS was so gorgeous I had to bring her home. Actually, the dealer agreed to put a new Pirelli P zero on, so they are delivering it on Tuesday. Yaaay!
