2004 4200 spyder fuel pump removal

Hello
I have a 2004 4200 maserati spyder.
I would like to know how to remove the large plastic ring that secures the fuel pump to the top of the petrol tank?
Is it a threaded cap with a right hand thread?
Is there a special tool to use etc or any tips and techniques as i dont want to break anything.
Any info is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
Thanks Dylan.

It is a RH thread...They make a few different special tools but you can remove it by hitting it on the tangs on the top with a dull chisel...It is not that tight.....Jason
