Hood Release Cable

2012 Gran Turismo S - Hood Release Handle inside the car near the driver's knee shows the hood release cable is frayed. It needs to be replaced before it breaks. Is it a DIY project?

Is the Dealer the best place to purchase a replacement cable? Is there a second hood release cable as there is on some other Maserati models? Thank you!

Probably is not going to be a good time for a DIY, but possible...You'll have to get it through the firewall near the pedals and it is tight down there..Dealer item only...No second cable...Maserati and Ferrari only have a mechanical release when they use an electrical release first...Jason

Actually THERE IS a second hood release atleast on a 2009, under the front left fender liner, there is a cable that looks just like the emergency trunk release cable it is against the apron and has a tab that holds it down.
