Maserati Battery Charge Maintainer?

So week 3 with my baby, and I've been looking into the small things.. portable pump for those pesky tires, car cover (stupid yellow pollen!), and was looking into a battery tender for when winter comes back around.

I happened to notice that my battery is in the trunk.. had NO IDEA! That being said, there is apparently a Maserati Battery Maintainer that plugs in to a port in the trunk on the right hand side.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Any 3rd party ones that work just as well as I'm sure that sucker won't be cheap!

I have the maser tender as it came with car, but I would save the bucks and buy equivalent ctek tender. After all, that's who makes the maser one. hook the pig tail up to your battery to provide a nice disconnect in trunk. U can close the trunk lid on the small wiring to keep tender outside of car in a safe environment and near outlet.

Iíve been using a Granite Digital 50W (10 years now) theyíre small, fits in the storage area connected directly to the battery. $107 Amazon

Iím very happy with the Husky tire inflator from Home Depot. About $50

Supposedly I have a port right in the trunk sidewall so I don't have to mess with the battery.. haven't had a chance to scope it out yet, but sounds even simpler!

I believe that port is for your OEM tire inflator. The way I have mine setup is very convenient as well but goes straight to battery. I'll try to snap a few pics.

I recently picked my 2014 GTS up and plan to keep it in my garage for 5-10 days at a time without starting it. I’ve had good experience with the BLACK+DECKER BC2WBD. I have one on each of my four wheelers, both of my streetbikes, my snowmobile, and even my lawn tractor. They are simple to use, have the battery connectors clips or 12v port (simple plug in/out to switch between), cord on both end is a generous 4-6ft, have a nice solid grip case, are moisture resistant (not that you’ll need it hopefully), and are about $25 bucks to boot. Had it plugged into my trunk for the last 5 days, all good. Cheers!

Buy a Ctek battery tender and add this cigarette lighter adapter:

https://www.amazon.com/CTEK-56-263-C...gateway&sr=8-1

Then you can just plug in the tender to the cigarette lighter outlet in the trunk. No need to mess with the battery. That's how I charge my battery, works fine.

FYI the Ferrari and Maserati battery tenders are rebranded Cteks.

I don't recall mine having that port next to the 12v port? Is that a stock port?

It is! I was reading through the manual and stumbled across it.. it's 2018, so maybe with the newer platform?

Cool. Is it used to charge/tender battery? Mine is a 2015, so they must have added later.

That's what it says in the book, so now I'm anxious to get one and try it out. Cool feature if that's truly the case!

I've had good luck with Battery Tender chargers in the past... I like that they perform an initial charge, then drop to a float charge.
