Future Gran Turismo owner (2011?)

Hello all.

New member. Own an Alfa Romeo 4C, looking to add another toy and have narrowed my search to a Gran Turismo. Love that car!

Not looking to spend a lot, probably 20's.

Saw one with 71,000 miles on it at a very good price, but my car club friends are concerned. Anyone out there have a high mileage GT? Any issues?

I don't have a ton of miles on mine (33k), but I've had it six years since brand new - and people comment all the time that it still looks new. It has been one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned. In six years, other than annual scheduled maintenance, I replaced the OEM battery with an Interstate AGM, installed tires (x3) and had one warranty claim - the vacuum hose for the exhaust valve came loose and the dealer fixed it (reattached hose, tightened clamp) in 20 minutes. You really can't beat that history. My only gripe is the depreciation, but if I don't sell it, that really doesn't matter...

Welcome aboard, the GT is a pretty reliable car overall, if you find one in good shape you should do just fine!

Best Regards

Garage
65k on mine and I have loved every mile. Just replaced the OEM battery after 5 years. Had the occasional electrical gremlin, most easily cured by an "Italian reset". Extremely reliable car!! DIY maintenance is also surprisingly simple too.

Thank you everyone for all of your comments!

I'm part of an Italian car club in NY and am looking to add another toy. Only problem is that my garage only fits one car, which is for my Alfa 4C which I bought new. I absolutely LOVE the GT .... always have. It will be kept in my driveway, but covered during the week. I have a daily driver. That is why it only makes sense for me to get a used one, but one that is not going to cost me a large repair bill when I get it home. My fellow members have warned me about the high cost of maintenance, and that I'm better off paying a bit more for a low miles one (<30,000 miles). Also have not settled between blue or black. Red or tan interior. But part of the fun of getting one of these cars is the search!!

Please keep the comments coming!!

Just curious as to whether or not these fellow members are actual owners of a Maserati? Thanks....
