I think I have a sick addiction!

Ok, I'll come clean. I think I have a sick addiction to buying and selling cars.

Ok whew, glad to get it off my chest

I just got the GranTurismo MC 2 months ago and my wife's 911 GT3 RS 4 months ago. I have been good for 2 months and now I'm looking through auto trader and cars.com for possible new car.

Don't get me wrong I'm not trading the MC or GT3 in. But what's wrong with me?

Wife says I like the chase and the buying experience, and getting a new car all gives me a quick thrill.

And I never tend to keep the cars too long. I get bored quickly and trade them in for something else...

In the last year I've gone through at least 5 cars... I am sick and need help. Here's a short list of cars I've had or traded in last year

-Ferrari F355 bought and sold
-Dodge Challenger R/T bought and sold
-Honda S2000 bought and sold
-traded in Maserati GranSport
-traded in Mercedes GL450
-traded in Porsche Cayman
-bought GranTurismo MC
-Bought 911 GT3 RS

Anyone else have the same problem? If so is there a cure??

2012 GranTurismo MC - Giallo yellow
2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS - wife's car
2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
2013 Chevy Suburban
1996 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta - recently traded.
2006 GranSport - Anniversary blue - traded. great car!

I can see getting bored quickly with some of the boring stuff like Mercedes, Dodge, Honda, and Porsche. What didn't you love about the Ferrari 355? Just wanted something modern?

Absolutely nothing! You just haven't found a car that gives you everything you want.

I think the cure is as easy as building a bigger garage lol. Or, just get a Ferrari 458 Spider and be done with it all for at least 3 or 4 years.

Porsche, boring?

But yeah thought of a 458 either coupe or spyder in the next 1-2 years and call it a day, for a while at least

I think I need something to compliment the MC. The MC is a great DD but not a true sports car. I just need a pure sports car. And not my wife's GT3. Something more like the 458

I think most people would consider 99% of Porsche's product line as boring. That isn't to say they aren't very nice cars. 911s and the assorted variants are all great rides. They just don't trigger a reaction from most. Unless, of course, we are talking about the CGT. Recent tragic events aside, the CGT is a truly exotic and special car.

No matter what anyone says you are NOT sick! For if you are then I'd fall in the same category and that would be simply unacceptable! Buy away and you can't go wrong with a 458! Just buy a bigger house! LOL

Until you can afford a 458, consider either an early F430 coupe or late 360 Spider as each can be had for $100k or less now. Both should keep you happy for more than a few months. Just figure out whether open air driving or more modern technology is more important to you. Go for some test drives. Enjoy the hunt!

+1

The right car will stop you for swapping them out. The right garage will allow you to keep them all.

It's not a sickness or a game. It's enjoyment. So many great cars out there, why be tied down to one? Can't compare them until they are driven. I usually keep a car year. Then I become intrigued with a different car. I say I'll keep the Mas for a couple of years. Always subject to change. More cars - more knowledge.

Who says I can't afford a 458? We're actually looking for a vacation home in the near future so got my money elsewhere...

I've test driven a 360 and 430 before and I'd rather go with the 430 over 360. But of course the 458 wins out out of the 3. But I generally like the coupe but the 458 spyder is very enticing, given its metal roof

Right on!

Was thinking. Some women loves and collect shoes or purses, some guys like and collects guns or similar stuff. Unfortunately my passion and love is so expensive!

Trust me, collecting women is more expensive.
