Considering performance mods (DBW module, ECU upgrade, possibly Larini exhaust upgrades-- already have installed Larini de-cat section) for '06 GS Spyder. Jeff @ FD said he thought someone had tested car post-mods for 0-60 and/or 1/4 mile ET's some where on the Forum (can't locate)-- I've modded other cars before, and sometimes the additional HP/torque (although the improved characteristics of the engine are often their own reward) didn't
parlay into much actual performance increase. Anyone have some real numbers?
If you do, please specify model year of your car and which exact upgrades you had installed.
I don't recall seeing anyone post performance metrics like 0-60 or 1/4 mile times. Maybe it has been done. However, the skill of the driver will make a bigger difference than any mods.
Great point Travis, many times people forget to first tighten the nut behind the wheel!
bozarts, what is your ultimate goal in regards to modifications? Are you just looking to squeeze a few more ponies out of that spectacular engine, or are you looking to improve lap times?
I think Jeff offers some great choices for any goal. Larini may add a few HP, but who cares with the beautiful sound it makes!
Sway bars will very noticeably improve the handling, and brake upgrades will help you go faster around the track.
Of course, the best investment may simply be seat time around your favorite track.
