Maserati GT Changes Colour (Black/White)
Just got my Maserati GT back 2 days ago, for the summer season I thought it was a nice idea to give the lady a new dress. The colour is white matte; the material of choice is a removable plastic coating that is guaranteed to hold over 2 years and also conserves the paint underneath. What do you think?
For all pictures click here.
I love the matte white, but wish they could have finished the top of the car as well. I understand why they didn't, but I just think that would have definitely finished it off.
I suggest you get the wheel spacers and sport springs from Jeff. Take a look at how much nicer the car will look.
Looks unfinished without the roof done...like the shipping plastic they use on cars while transporting.
Is it necessary to remove any panels to get this done? I am also thinking of matt white....:)
Cost? Allfolio counterpart in the U.S.?
Would look 1000000x better with the roof done.
I think the roof needs to be done, especially if you plan on keeping it on for a while, the car will be 2 different shades of black. Also what country are you in? My headlight housing is black, yours is silver?
The two tone color scheme can work.
What is nice about the wrap, is that you can paint or place more stickers over it.
For example, image this car lettered up as a POLICE car. (Say for Monte Carlo or something like that.
It would be a pretty trick police car!
And, when you get tired of the look, just peel it off.
colour change or color change
I'm not a fan of white coloured cars and not very popular in Europe-especially in Germany. But in the last year or so we are seeing a lot more Audis, BMW and Mercs in white.
Your car colour scheme works better with the roof black as the BMW M3 racing has a black carbon fibre roof with white body.
Many if not all Gumball cars have the bodywrap. You can get chrome paint which looks like your car has been chrome plated and works well with Audi or Jaguar as they have made it an issue of their body panels being made from Aluminium. It would be popular with our Arab friends.
I was thinking of wrapping my porsche with the gulf racing colours- Duck egg blue and orange with Gulf Livery.
The wrapping of a maserati with all over gold wrap temporarily is appealing but I dont trust the Italian paint to hold up to when its time to remove the wrap.
Dutch accent with Goldmember style:
"I LOVE GOLD!! THE SHMELL OF IT, THE TASTE OF IT , THE TEXHSTURE..!"
Messing w/ perfection.

you guys should check out the link to his blog....pretty interesting guy and some cool links/vids (non-automotive)....
Personally, I think it's interesting but not necessarily what my choice would be. Creates some interesting options however to think about for fun....for example, it would be cool during wine touring season (all year!) to make the hood look like the Italian flag.
I would have left the hood and trunk in black :D
But good effort all in all :)
Thanks for the feedback!
I had different concepts including all white, hood black, trunk black, etc but I just kept the roof black. I went for the 2 colours because it's different, interesting and I actually think it looks good. Not that I love attention (a little maybe) but no matter where I go people look, take pictures, ask about it. Even the guys at Maserati approved it. It makes a different impression if you see it in real life.
Optionally I can also make the roof white, or just tear the whole thing down. I live in Düsseldorf, Germany, had it done in Krefeld by Allfolia, it cost €900, (around $1200) they had to take off most panels as you can see on some pictures.
This was my final graphic concept I gave them.
