Help identifying a harness plug

Can anyone identify this harness plug? It's located just behind the front left headlight (driver's side/USA)

I'm rebuilding a salvage car and it's not plugged into anything. All functions seem normal and all light harnesses are accounted for....?

Then leave it alone...It could be for xenon lights if your car doesn't have them..You would need a leveling motor etc If you had them...Hence the extra connector.....Jason

Mine has xenon lights and no levelling motors for what it's worth. The Ricambi parts diagrams are great sources of information on how these cars are put together.

My bad..I don't know every car...Generally, when you have xenon lights you have leveling motors and a rear height sensor..The DOT wants to make sure you don't blind someone if you have a full truck.. Some early cars maybe excluded from this...Jason

Thanks Tony and Jason! I've been wondering about the levelers, because mine is an early car with xenon lights but has no levelers. Weird that they have the plug there on the early cars before the option was added... Thanks for the reassurance!

I was just speaking early cars in general...Not just Maserati..If it works then rock on...These cars seem to have the same harness for various markets...Jason

You're sure it's just that the levellers don't work? I'm really surprised that they'd build them like that. Mine was a very early Coupe (02) and it was certainly a madatory thing in Europe by then.

Parts 4 & 5 say "not for USA and CDN". You just need to look.
